The Wind River Range is located in the Bridger Teton National Forest area in west central Wyoming. This area has some of the highest peaks in Wyoming in addition to many lakes, trails, and campgrounds. - Almost 200 miles of the Continental Divide
- More than 70 miles of the Oregon Trail, much of it on public land
- 2 Native American tribes on the Wind River Indian Reservation
- 626 lakes and reservoirs
- 2,057 miles of rivers and streams
- Wyoming's highest peak, Gannett, at 13,804 feet
- Seven of the largest glaciers in the Rocky Mountains, and dozens more
- 2.1 pronghorn antelope and only 4.1 people per square mile
- The largest wintering herd of Bighorn Sheep in the U.S.
- 300 days of sunshine a year
