We arrived at the Wind River Range during the late morning hours and found an excellent campsite at a campground at the end of a dead end road that leads north from Pinedale. We put up our tent and eat some subs we had picked up along the way. After a brief rest we headed out on a nearby trail towards Photographer's Point. It was a six mile hike to the overlook, but the weather was great and the trail was a steady incline most of the way. This trail is also used by llamas and horses so we had to watch our step. When we arrived at Photographer's Point we realized why it was called that. The view was excellent. We could see Wyoming's tallest peak (Gannett Peak 13,804 ft.) and many other mountain peaks. Fremont Lake could be seen down below in the valley. It was a 180 degree view of pure mountain wilderness. After a short break and several pictures later, we hiked down the trail back to our campsite (and passed a few deer on the way). The trail was not made for beginners because it was very rocky and the elevation of the trail was between 9,000 and 11,000 feet.
