Don't Light That Fire Without A Permit!

Always obtain a burn permit before doing any open burning. This is the best way to obtain the latest fire danger and fire safety information. Call 533-8341 to obtain a burn permit, and to learn about burning regulations in that area. Burn permits are required whenever the ground is not snow-covered. Burn permits are not required for burning done in an approved metal or masonry container which has a lid with holes no larger than 3/4" in diameter. Burn permits are also not required for campfires. You must attend to your fire and keep it under your control at all times. If your fire escapes your control, you will be liable for all damages and the cost of suppressing the fire. Only leaves, grass clippings, brush, and/or household debris from 1 or 2-family homes may be burned.
