The game of Flip Cup in itself is quite simple. Drink the beer and then flip the cup, however there have been modifications to the game such as the "Survivor Flip Cup" variation, in which losing teams must vote off teammates. Here at the St. Patrick's Day Games we use the Survivor Flip Cup version which will require teams to battle head-to-head in a best of five series, with the winning team being the first to be victorious in three rounds. Here at the St. Patrick's Day Games, the following rules will be used:

Rules

Start:
-  Teams will choose a side of the table and will line up across from each other.
-  Teams will fill their team pitcher to line “Flip Cup” fill line.
-  Teams will use their team pitcher to fill their team cups equally.
-  Teams will start at an agreed upon end of the table.
-  Olympians who are chosen, will start the round with a cheers of their cups.

Game Play:
-  Each player will be required to drink their beer, place cup on the edge of the table and then hit it from the bottom causing it to flip and land upside down on the table.
-  The cup must be settled prior to next player touching his/her cup and beginning to drink.
-  The winning team is determined by which team’s final cup settles first.
-  The order of teams may be rearranged in between rounds.
-  Using extra cups, cans, pitchers or any other objects to assist in the flipping, landing, or settling of the cup is NOT allowed. if an object is intentionally used the round will be forfeited.
-  The winning team is established by which team first wins three rounds.

Championship Round:
-  Game Play Rules Will Be Followed.
-  Upon completion of a round the losing team will vote a player off their team.
-  Teams will drink all team cups per round despite the number of remaining teammates.
