Jesus Christ, whose name is actually translated from the Hebrew "Yeshua," which would actually be more accurately translated to Joshua.  And "Christ" comes from "christos," the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew term "messiah."  What does all this mean?  It means that you can't translate from Hebrew to Greek to Latin and so on and come up with accurate name.  We're not even addressing the prophet correctly.  It would be like if I were your god and you all called me Brain Shultzy.  I'd teach you how to invent nukes then leave.

But the driving focus behind this section is to discuss how the story of Jesus is a blatant ripoff of Horus, the egyptian god of the sun.

-Horus is the Egyptian Sun God circa 3000 BC.

-Jesus of Nazareth circa 3 BC

-Horus was born of the virgin Meri on December 25th

-Jesus was born of the virgin Mary on December 25th (date arguable, still celebrated)

-Horus' birth was accompanied by a star in the east which 3 kings followed to locate and adorn the newborn savior

-Jesus' birth was announced by a star in the east which 3 kings (magi) followed to locate and adorn the newborn savior

-At the age of 12, Horus was a prodigal child teacher, and at the age of 30 Horus was baptized by a figure known as Anup, and thus began his ministry

-At the age of 12, Jesus was a child teacher, and at the age of 30 he was baptized by John the Baptist, and thus began his ministry

-Horus was known by many names, such as The Truth, The Light, God's Appointed Son, The Good Shepherd, The Lamb of God

-Jesus was known as The King of Kings, the Son of God, the Light of the World, the Alpha and Omega, The Lamb of God

-After being betrayed by Typhon, Horus was crucified, buried for 3 days, and then was resurrected

-Jesus was betrayed by his disciple Judas, crucified, placed in a tomb and after 3 days, was resurrected

-Horus's foster father was called Jo-Seph

-Jesus' foster father was Joseph

-After the birth of Horus, Herut tried to have Horus murdered

-After the birth of Jesus, Herod tried to have Jesus murdered

-Horus was taken from the desert of Amenta up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-rival Set

-Jesus was taken from the desert in Palestine up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-rival Satan

Other similarities

Horus was tempted while alone in the desert
Horus healed the sick and the blind
Horus cast out demons and walked on water
Horus raised people from the dead
Horus had 12 disciples

Neither have any official recorded life histories between the ages of 12 and 30

There are about 30 other similarities, but the point here is that religion is compiled from all the other fairy tales in this world that you have so arrogantly dismissed as silly superstitions, when your fairy tale is just rehashed garbage from their heap.

//Sidenote

I realize that since the Zeitgeist movie came out, it looks like I ripped this straight from them.  But dammit I put in the legwork for this research years ago.
