History of the School

The Concepcion Integrated School Secondary Level (known as CISSL),  an offshoot of the Marikina High School –Annex,  started to operate on September 17, 2001 with more than 40 faculty staff to teach more than 1,000 students largely from Tumana area.

On May 10, 2002, it was instituted through a City Council Resolution No. 067, Series of 2002 and through the subsequent approval of the Department of Education.

Its name, Concepcion Integrated School, obtained pursuant to the Deped Order No. 91 Series of 1999 renaming Marikina High School-Annex as Concepcion Integrated School Secondary Level under the untiring effort of Mr. Rubi A. Parungao, the appointed principal that time.

Here are the highlights of its progress from a mere annex to a fast-growing school in the city:

        2001 - Its humble beginning

2004 - 2010 - This period brought about a dramatic change in the school as it renamed into Concepcion Integrated School.

2011-Present - Due to a plan of separating Concepcion Integrated School Elementary Level from its Secondary Level, the PLMAR Building also called as DPWH-DepEd Building  was given to the Concepcion Integrated School Secondary Level.
