I had been off to work yesterday and met up with my sister (Bria) and her good friend (Shal). I work flexi-time and it was approximately mid-day and so i made a decision I'd be a little bit later to work and simply hang out with them to get a coffee and some food; they're both lovely people so I love to be with them.

They were shopping and when we met within the cafe they had lots of bags stuffed with things they purchased. Bria had acquired a lovely pair of shoes plus a new dress (which I thought had been a little too revealing but that's probably because she's my sister. If it was another woman I first viewed it on I would almost certainly find it irresistible!). It was a fabulous shade of green (the dress, not the shoes) and i also probably wouldn't like the thought of the colour but in real life, looked great. Great choice, Bria! She also went to a silver jewellery shop and got a beautiful necklace. It appeared to be an acorn on a nice chain - very pretty, it was.

I need to say the coffee really was good - I had a latte and that is my favourite along with a baguette with tuna and salad inside it. It was Alright but had to send it back to get some more tuna fish put in. If you pay for something, you ought to get what you desire...

We eventually left the coffee house with each other however had to wave good bye to them both and trot off to work. While my boss is understanding with regards to time keeping (I'm not a morning person so i do my best work in the afternoon / nighttime which my boss is aware of and would rather I do the best quality work than rubbish) he does have limitations and on one occasion I arrived really late and had a ... talking to, shall we say. I prefer to keep my career so off I'm going.

Stepping into the office it was rather quiet - very few people were there at all and my contact list once i logged in was somewhat quiet so I just continued with a task I had been given earlier this week. A bit dull, it turned out, nevertheless it needed to be carried out by the end of this week so was good to be able to put time in without being interrupted every five minutes by someone wanting something else done. "It'll only take a second but can you..." is the way it will start and an hour later still going. I know it is not new year but my resolution should be to tell people "no" more frequently. So often it's not that the job has to be done by me, it's simply most people are too lazy to do it themselves and so they take advantage of me because they know I am too nice (or feeble) to say no. That is actually a work in progress.

Anyway, I had been working and getting a bit worried that there were not many people about. I asked what the situation was and was informed "Oh - didn't you know? Boss called for a team developing session today and they're down at the bowling alley". Typical - I knew I should not have had the coffee with Bria but I couldn't just leave the office and join in. At least they're fairly common and likely to have another soon.
