The following projects exemplify VSI's diverse capabilities. Because of
VSI's heavily experienced Engineering Department and ability to design,
VSI encourages most any challenge.
COLUMBUS
CREW
SOCCER STADIUM
Value Structures, Inc. supplied the first Major league soccer stadium
in the United States in 1999. The stadium located in Columbus Ohio had
a nine-month demanding design built construction schedule. VSI was one
of three finalists for the construction of the (four) 170' poles. Value
Structures, Inc. was granted the project because of their ability to design
the required five degree tilt and thirty degree tilt into the poles and
the foundations. These criteria was achieved while committing to the less
then six week shipping requirement. The owner of the stadium (Lamar Hunt)
wanted the poles to lurch over the seating from the outside of the arena.
This design created a shadowing effect similar to European lit soccer
fields.
ILLINOIS
DOT HIGH
MAST POLES
VSI has supplied numerous
high mast lighting projects for the Illinois Deptmartment of Transportation.
The largest being in Cook County (Chicago) consisting of 67 poles raging in height
from 110' to 140'. The poles differ from standard towers due to the stringent
deflection requirements. Three-step paint process, ladder clips and elaborate
hand hole.
LOS
ANGELES BOARD OF WATER & LIGHT
Transmission poles built for the Alemeda Corridor Transportation Authority ranging
in height from 66' and 121' designed by VSI having six complex load trees and
numerous cross arms. The poles were constructed with weldments concealing the
wiring within' the pole. The design and delivery of the pole were on a critical
path in witch was met by VSI.
VIRGINIA
DOT VMS SIGN STRUCTURE
VSI was the fist sign structure manufacture to follow the AASHTO 2000
guidelines. These guidelines combined with Virginia DOT special provisions
were implemented to handle these heavy electric sign loadings. Special
consideration was also taken for, vibration, galloping, and fatigue.
