WHAT IS IN A YEAR
Pastor Ronald Berry
, SW Washington

A year has twelve months, fifty-two weeks, three hundred and sixty five days, eight thousand seven hundred and sixty six hours, five hundred twenty five thousand nine hundred and sixty minutes.

¨If you sleep 8 hours a night you will spend 121 days a year asleep in bed.
¨If you are a fast eater you will spend about 2 hours a day eating, or 30 days a year eating.
¨If you work forty hours a week, you will spend 86 days a year at work.

There are many things you and I do that consumes our time. If you attend a 90-minute Sunday services each week you will spend 3.5 days a year in church.

? How much time do we spend in prayer?
? How much time do we spend in bible study?
? How much time do we spend doing God’s good for others?

¨1 hour a day would be 15 days a year.
¨30 min a day would be 7.50 days a year.
¨15 minutes a day would be 3.25 days a year
¨10 minutes a day would be 1.50 days a year
¨5 minutes a day would be 3/4s of a day a year.

Life is lived one moment at a time. The Devil would like to keep our focus on what could be rather then what is.

We often put off for tomorrow what can easily be done in the now.

I will do it some day robs us of present and future successes.  Guess who wants to rob us of our present and future successes?

We do not enjoy the events yet future in the present. We must invest in the present in order to have any expectation of anything in the future.

We experience and enjoy the all the events of life in the present realm. Every future joy will only be enjoyed when they become a present reality.

Matt 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

It is said we should put something away for a rainy day but perhaps we ought to be putting something away for a sunny day! We need to be very careful not to promote the negative mindset of the Devil.

We tend to believe the world is getting worse, when in truth the world is a better place to live today then it has ever been before in history. The kingdoms of this world are progressing toward the time when they will be ruled by the King of Kings. Evil does not overcome good, good overcomes evil.

Every plan of man will fail, while the righteous plans of God will see success!

¨We have the freedom to worship in our own church building.
¨We can donate to our church and receive a deduction from our taxes.
¨We can freely preach the Gospel in church, on TV, on radio, in printed form and in public places.
¨We should concentrate our efforts on what is today, this hour, this minute, and this second.
¨Our God wants to be involved in our present.
¨If we keep God in the present He will be in the future.
¨God is the God of the past, present and future.
¨God is ever present and we must be cautious not to place Him in the past only, the present only, or the future only.
¨God is ever present, expect to see Him no matter what time frame you are in.

Rev 1:8: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

God has been active in your life, God is active in your life, and God will be active in your life.

Lk 21:28: And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

WE are not to waist our time looking to the fearful things that are coming but rather the blessed things that are coming!

Negative view;

Lk 21:26: Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Positive view;

Rom 13:12: The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

It is always present with the Lord.

Lk 19:9: And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Let us rejoice in the present, and invest in the future!

Ps 118:24: This is the day that the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

¨Your tomorrows are determined by your today’s.
¨Seek God and His kingdom today so you will have a tomorrow.
¨Invest in today so you will have something to draw from in your tomorrows.
¨Our tomorrows are the result of our today’s.
¨Sow today to have a harvest tomorrow.

God bless your year!
