Alternate Ending to Dream Warriors

A cross-shaped hole explodes from Freddy's forehead--brilliant, blinding white light pours out.WIDER. As Freddy staggers back, riddled with glowing holes, we see a whirlwind of spirit faces pouring from him -- souls of his Victims soaring out, freed at last. KINCAID AND JOEY Awestruck as they watch FREDDY. The holes expand, eating Freddy alive as his SCREAM ECHOES across the dreamscape. The shafts of light from his body merge into one white hot ball - then EXPLODES. Freddy is gone. KRISTEN cradles Nancy in her arms. Nancy is drifting toward death.

KRISTEN(crying)
He's gone. It's over. Please don't die, Nancy. Please.

NANCY(weak)
I'm so proud of you all. (pause) Tell Neil I...

She sags against Kristen. Kristen shakes her head, tears brimming.

KRISTEN
I won't let you die. I won't. (lower, strange intensity) I'm going to dream you... (whispering in Nancy's ear) I'm going to dream you into a beautiful dream. Forever and ever.

She closes her eyes and holds Nancy tight.

CUT TO: the group therapy room. We see Taryn and Will's dead bodies. We see Kincaid, now peacefully sleeping. We also see Nancy, with stab wounds on her stomach. Max enters.

Max
SHIT! We need a doctor in here, somebody get a fucking doctor STAT!

Max walks to Nancy's body, he checks to see if she's alive, he can already see Will and Taryn are too far gone. We see that he realizes Nancy isn't crazy. He wakes Nancy up. She is slightly out of it.

Max[calmly and soothingly]
You're gonna be okay Nancy, don't worry, we're gonna get you a doctor, I'm sorry I doubted you.

Dr Simms runs in, with a bunch of other doctors, they put Nancy on a stretcher and wheel her out. More doctors come and take out Kincaid to put him to bed.

Max exits then enters, this time with blankets, he's crying. He carefully puts the blankets over Will and Taryn's bodies.

CUT TO: The cemetery One casket is surrounded by a large number of MOURNERS. CLOSER

Kristen, Joey, and Kincaid watch tearfully. Neil, wearing a neck brace, puts his arm around the kids as the caskets are lowered. Nancy is sitting down, where family of the deceased always sits, she is alone and crying.

Nancy
Daddy, why did I make you fight him, Daddy...

The funeral is now breaking up, Nancy stands and starts walking with Neil

Nancy
Neil, I'm leaving.

Neil
Why Nancy?

Nancy
Because there is nothing here for me anymore. Nobody. Everybody I ever loved is gone. I have no friends, no family, I have no place here anymore. I need to go somewhere that I can get some sleep.

Nancy walks away, she walks to her car which we can see is already packed with her things, and Neil looks on, painfully. She gets in and drives away. Neil looks toward the hilltop. He notices movement on the hilltop. The nun stands on the crest of the hill. She turns and walks away, disappearing from view. NEIL leaves the funeral and starts up the hillside after her. As Neil reaches the tree where he first met the nun, he catches glimpse of her as she disappears behind a crypt.

NEIL
Sister...wait.

Neil rounds the crypt -- the nun has vanished. Only a simple tombstone stands at this edge of the field. Neil steps closer.
