Spira was home to highly developed civilizations until 1000 years ago, when Sin first appeared. Sin is a tresspasser, a scourge upon the land. It falls only to rise again, bringing chaos and destruction to Spira's technological advances.
A group of travellers from different tribes and walks of life will set aside their own beliefs to save their crying world. Together they will guard a young Summoner determined to defeat Sin at all costs.
The party journeys to the very ends of the world, visiting temples and bonding with Aeons. As the Summoner gains new strengths, she prepares to recieve her 'Last Summoning', the only power that can defeat Sin and save the world.

Tidus is 17 years old, and is described as an optimistic, unfaltering sportsman with a will to win and also a competitor in the underwater sport "Blitzball." Tidus will be your main character and the very character that leads the fight against the darkness. NOTE: he has been known to be a cry baby.

Yuna, also 17 years old (there's a trend), is a summoner and daughter to High Summoner Braska. A fierce determination shines deep within her eyes. Of course, like so many of the main female characters in the Final Fantasy series, Yuna holds the key to ridding the world of the darkness that envelops it, but will her personal sacrifice be too much in the end? Will she become another Aeris?

Described as Yuna's guardian (cute "little" guy isn't he?). I'd assume it would be best not to cross his path. Kimhari is of the Ronso tribe, which actually makes fun of him for his size...he's actually small for a Ronso. He prefers to not speak...and he doesn't for much of the game. However, when he does, it is very insightful and to the point.

Seymour is the half Guado, half human leader of the Guado village. Along with leading a village, Seymour is also a Maester of the Yevon religion, which is the official world religion of Spira. He seems to be a suave leader who helps you out, but watch out. You later find out he killed his father and plans to steal Yuna away as his bride.
Lulu is Yuna's guardian and teacher. She acts as the sister Yuna never had who helps Yuna develop her skills. Lulu seems to be quite the powerful woman, and I admire her strength, but she does have chinks in her armor. Keep your eyes open for them.
Rikku is the first person of Spira you come in contact...oddly enough she punches you...haha. Rikku befriends you in the beginning and helps you to learn the Al Bhed language (which is essential to proceed in the game). One problem, though, is that since she is Al Bhed some of the other characters will not be so pleased. The Al Bhed use the forbidden Machina (machines of the past).

Once the chief bodyguard to the Great Summoner Brasca and friend of Jecht, Auron becomes Yuna's guardian and guides Tidus to some truth concerning his father, Jecht. From some gameplay, I do believe Auron is dead...find out for yourself.
Wakka is a fellow Blitzball player, as evident by his weapon. He is the second person of Spira who aids Tidus. Wakka becomes a close friend of Tidus, especially since he reminds him of his deceased brother. However, Wakka does have a prejudice against the Al Bhed, so keep him away from Rikku.
Cid is the leader of the Al Bhed , as well as Rikku's father. If you are a Final Fantasy aficionado, you can tell that the game designers have kept with the tradition of placing a "Cid" into the game. Don't think he's the king from "The King and I." He's very much a powerful man who is trying to save the summoners of Spira.
From playing all vacation, the game is totally revamped: new battle system, magic system, and system all together. It sounds like it's going to be a great challenge for you experienced RPG players, and a great start for you novices. I love the game. The voices are wonderful and the special effects are wonderful. It's very realistic at times.
