Currently: Abstainance Blasphemy
Coming soon: Borrowing Conformity

Abstainance:

"Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind."
- 1 Peter 1:23
- When the Bible talks about abstainance, it doesn't allways mean sex. If you eat to much, abstain from food for a while, or if you watch to much TV, abstain, go read a book. Abstainance is when you take a break from doing something that isn't necessarily good for you, in hope that you mat quit.

"Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood."
- Acts 15:20
- We; being me, and them; being you, the reader. As I said just above, abstainance is not just 'no sex', to abstain is to avoid any evil or anything that you do to much of. Unfortunetly, I don't suggest you abstain from work. Use this new found spare time to talk to God.

"It is God's will that you shoulc be sanctified; that you should avoid sexual immorality."
- 1 Thessalonians 4:3
- This particular verse deals directly with sex. Don't do it, unless of course you're married. (For those on their second marriage, scroll down to 'Divorce')

"Avoid every kind of evil"
- 1 Thessalonians 5:22
- Abstain=Avoid, almost the same thing only more direct.

"...to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul."
- 1 Peter 2:11
- Man was born with sinful nature, we are constantly at war with evil. It may seem quite difficult at times, but remember 'the wages of sin is death.'

Accusations:

"Do not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses."
- 1 Timothy 5:19
- Don't jump to conclusions if someone tells you something. It might not be the truth. If two or more people come to you and tell you the same thing, then you have a problem.

"...do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord."
- 2 Peter 2:11
- God is allways watching. Be careful what you say, and make sure it's true before you open your mouth.

"Do not accuse a man for no reason- when he has done you no harm."
- Proverbs 3:30
- It's like my mother used to say, 'If it's not dangerous and no one is hurt, then don't tell. Then you'll be a tattle-tale.' Boy, was she right!

"'Don't extort people and don't accuse people falsely...'"
- Luke 3:14
- This is pretty straight forward. If there isn't any evidence to support someone's accusation, ignore it.

Adultery:

"You shall not commit adultery."
- Exodus 20:14
- This verse, as you should already have guessed, is one of the ten commandments. The seventh to be exact. It is quite straight-forward, don't do it!

"You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.'" (Refering to Exodus 20:14) "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
- Matthew 5:27-28
- This refers to the seventh commandment stating, 'Do not commit adultery.' Then goes on to explain what it is. Unfortunetly the Bible isn't politicaly correct, this applies to women aswell. Don't look at men lustfully.

"If a man commits adultery with another man's wife - with the wife of his neighbour - both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death."
- Leviticus 20:10
- Whether male or female, adultery is wrong. Plain and simple, it's wrong. You not only hurt your loved one but you hurt God. (For those on their second marriage, scroll down to 'Divorce')

"I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
- Matthew 19:9
- This goes for women aswell. Anyone who remarries without God's blessing is an adulterer/adulteress.

"So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man."
- Romans 7:3
- If you are divorced, it is not okay to remarry. If you are a widow or widower, then it is allright. Perhaps you might consider taking a look at 'Marriage".

"Neither the sexually immorale, nor the idolaters, nor the adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers shall inherit the kingdom of God."
- 1 Corinthians 6:9b-10
- Like the example of God and money, you can't worship both pick one or the other. Any of these things are not traits of someone who walks with God. Heaven or Hell? God gave you the choice.

Advice:

"...but the advice of the wicked is deceitful."
- Proverbs 12:5
- Simply put: don't listen to bad advice.

"The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice."
- Proverbs 12:15
- Don't be afraid to ask someone for advice, they probably have a better view from where they are.

"Listen to advice and accept instruction and in the end you will be wise."
- Proverbs 19:20
- The only way you can become wise, like the verse says, is to listen to advice (probably refering to the word of God), and accept instruction (obediance to God).

Anger:

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
- Proverbs 15:1
- The most common example of this is 'road-rage'. You are mad at traffic for going slowly, you get cut off, and you swear at the guy in front. In turn this makes him angry. But what if, instead of turning your anger towards him, you treated him as if he were an angel, for he very well may be.

"A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control."
- Proverbs 29:11
- Don't let your anger control you, control your anger. Take a break, pray, and give your day into God's hands. Things will move alot more smoothly.

Arrogance:

"Do not be arrogant, but be afraid."
- Romans 11:20b
- Basically; do not be arrogant!

Attitude:

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus."
- Philippians 2:5
- What is there to explain?

"Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin."
- 1 Peter 4:1
- Have an attitude that is Christ like.

Authority:

"Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgement against themselves."
- Romans 13:2
- Whether the authority you rebel against be that of Man or that of God, you rebel against Him. The Bible says to honour the laws of the land, which are the laws of your country, and foremost the laws of God. The law of man allows divorces, but God said 'only in the case of adultery'. Therefore getting a divorce is wrong.

"Therefore it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience."
- Romans 13:5
- Listen when someone is giving you instructions, and obey. If you don't listen you can get in trouble or you can face trouble. By this I mean, you can get in trouble from your parents / guardians / superior, or you can face trouble, from the Evil One.

"Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you."
- Hebrews 13:17
- The most simple example of this is your parents. If you obey them, they don't get ticked off, and that just makes life so much easier.

Betrayal:

Blasphemy:

"But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."
- Mark 3:29
- Oooh, there's a tough one. The Bible contradicts itself by saying that the sin is unforgiveable, but then why did Jesus come to Earth? Think about it...
