Fall Storyline 2002
THE EYE OF HAZIMEL

Eye Wizzness Account by
Dan Coleman, V:EKN Prince of Baltimore

Glen Burnie, Maryland, November 23, 2002--WOW !! My first organized tournament and I didn't even get to play in it. Who would have "thunk" 31 people would show up in Beautiful Downtown Glen Burnie, Maryland to play VTES in the Eye of Hazimal Storyline Event!!!!

Thirty-one Methuselahs traveled to Glen Burnie, Maryland (located smack in the middle of Annapolis, Baltimore, the Chesapeake Bay, and Washington, DC) to attend the Baltimore Fall 2002 Storyline Event. Five came from Washington, DC, four from Massachusetts, three from Pennsylvania, three from Virginia, and 16 from Maryland. Eighteen Clans were represented, creating a real smorgasbord of actions. The Tremere was the most popular (and contested) clan with five Tremere decks present. Next most common decks were Malk (4) and Ravnos (3). Following with two decks each were: Ahrimanes, Gangrel, Giovanni, and Nos. Singular representatives were Assamite, Baali, Brujah, Daughters, !Malk, Samedi, Toreador, !Tremere, True Brujah, Tzimisce, and !Venture.

Tom Mickle of Tyrone, PA won the final with 1.5 VP in a game that went to time with four players remaining. Tom had a most deadly !Malk deck.

Greg Williams (Elkton, MD) was second with .5 VP with his Giovanni deck; Jason Babbit (Mannassas, VA) was third with .5 VP with his Ravanos deck; Josh Duffin (Bethesda, MD) was fourth with .5 VP with his Samedi deck; and Mike Minker (Annapolis, MD) was fifth with his gangrel deck. Mike got his first GW (actually two) and his first trip to the finals.

OVERALL ITMES OF INTEREST
=========================

Fourty-minutes into the first round, all four players at table seven abruptly jumped up and started walking towards the front of the store. Event organizer Dan Coleman ran to the front asking, "What's going on?" He was told "We're taking this outside!" Concerned a brawl was about to ensue, Dan questioned why the dispute could not be settled inside. He relaxed when informed the table was going outside for a smoke break.

John Mickle had the misfortune to be playing one of the five Tremere decks at the tournament. Round one found his prey contesting Blythe, Muaziz, and Aisling. Round two his prey turned up Muaziz and contested Aisling and his grand prey also played Tremere. John sang the blues as he had five vampire contests in the first two rounds.
