What's with the
boy-
cott thing?
Well it's a long story. And it begins and ends with MLAATR's sponser: Nickelodeon. It started with the little things that made people mad, but not mad enough to really do anything about it. This includes doing things like canceling popular shows like Rocko's Modern Life and Alex Mack and the like. Then it got bigger. On march 4th, 2000, Nick decided to air one of their biggest cash cows ever put on their station: Invader Zim. Almost anyone who watched Nickelodeon LOVED this show, and it was obivous that it was doing well since they got merchandise out within a year, even though it usually takes Nick about two to three years to even consider it. Then a group of soccer moms decided it was too violent. A show about a pathetic green alien who can't take over the world is too violent. Why not just cancel Looney Tunes while you're at it? At first everyone ignored the rumors of them taking it away, because it was making too much money. Then after three of four months, it became apparent that they weren't going to air the rest of the season. Now everyone was alright with this, after all, we all knew a DVD with the full season is only a click on Ebay away. It was this fact that was the last straw: a show that REALLY needed to ba canceled was still there: Rocket Power. Yes, a show about demented 10 year old skaters who think they rule the world. Who promote that it's okay to fail school. Who give kids the motivation to go out on their skateboard and imitate nearly impossible stunts. The show is based on absolutley nothing but friends betraying each other, kids disrespecting their parents, and making fun of any tourist that even sets foot in California. Now why aren't the parents complaining about this one? Even if subtly, IZ had a few hidden morals or two. But here these kids are, watching a show that says it's okay to push the smaller kids around, and Nick doesn't so much as blink. Why? Beause it's making too much money. Nick has been fickle and un-considering throughout this entire thing, and no one could take it anymore. So everyone decicded to just stop watching it. Within a week or two, word got out all over the place and the boycott started. If a boycotter is going to watch any Nick at all, it's usually for about an hour everyday and that's it. (Doesn't seem like much, but when thousands of kids are doing that, it's not enough business for them.) The only exceptions that have been made for along time is two shows: Spongebob Squarepants, and My Life as a Teenage Robot. Nick is about halfway done with canceling Rocket Power, and it is said that it will be off the air sometime this year. Everyone belives it was a VERY smart move on Nick's part by sponsering MLAATR.

The MLAATR forum
I own absolutley no part of MLAATR and do not make any money off this site's banners or ads. All pictures were taken off reviews and all fanart was used with permission. I have no affiliation with Nickelodeon or the show's creator, so please don't sue me, I'll get grounded. ^^;;
