Ethel V. & Little Ida Reed
My grandfather
used to talk about his sisters. Both of them died young. We have documentation
of Little Ethel's birth and death. We've seen Ethel's birth certificate on the previous page.
Her death certificate and the death announcement from the local paper, both
can be seen below.

There was a younger sister that the family always
spoke about. Her name was Ida Belle. The only documentation of Little Ida's
existence is the following cemetery card. Her grave rests beside her sister
Ethel's;at the Hollywood Cemetery. The location of the plots was confirmed by
my contact Kevin Olvaney.
What we do know about little Ida Reed is that she was not on
the 1920 census, so she was born sometime after 1920 and she was not living at
the time of John Franklin Reed's death on September 15,1935. There
is about a 15 year window for us to search for her. Family stories tell us that
Ida Belle was only about 6 years old when she died from
Diptheria.
