Flannerys of Baltimore:
Famine Emigrants from Ireland

Tracing the Journey of Three Flannery Families from the Great Hunger

to Baltimore, Maryland

Three known Flannery families emigrated to Baltimore, Maryland from two counties in Ireland during the Famine of the 1840s-1850s.  This site explores primary sources of information, including baptisms, marriages, tombstone inscriptions, immigration and naturalization records, and cities directories, for Flannery genealogists researching their roots in Baltimore, Maryland, and in select Roman Catholic parishes of County Tipperary, County Mayo and County Galway.

Welcome to a research adventure that encompasses two or three countries, half a dozen Irish counties, several gracious parish priests, the wonderful Flannery Clan, a myriad of extended e-mail "cousins", and countless graveyards.
