It's Just Not the Same
RATING: G
SUMMARY: Missie was sick. Disasterous results for the rest of the girls and their shopping.
WARNINGS: Christé wrote it, not Missie.
DISCLAIMER: I NO OWN. NO MONEY. NO SUE.
Maybe I got better because of sleep and medication. Or maybe I got better cause Christé gives me stuff like this!?!?!
Christé sat on a bench in the mall with a small bag in her hands that held her latest
purchase. She looked about not really looking for anything. She stood up straightening
her purple top and decided that she was going to get something to munch on when so
she at least had something to do for a while.
Christé stepped up to the counter and ordered a plate of Chinese food with fortune
cookies. Then she took her tray over to a nearby table, she still had an hour before she
was suppose to met Rose and Candis at the car. It just wasn’t the same without Missie.
"Hey." A voice said from behind her. Christé glanced around to see Candis holding a tray
with fries and a burger. "You bored too?" She asked Christé and then came to sit down
beside her.
"Ya I just can’t find anything to do." Christé answered taking a bit of her egg role. "I just
don’t get it. Normally I would be shopping like crazy, but now I can’t find anything that
I like."
"Normally Missie would be with us." Candis pointed out before biting into her burger. "But
I agree with you. I didn’t want to buy anything because I wasn’t sure if Missie would
want to wear it."
"What does that have to do with weather or not you buy it." Christé asked puzzled and
stole one of Candis’s fries when she wasn’t looking.
"Well, if she wouldn’t wear it than it probably isn’t any good. Plus if
she doesn’t want to wear it, than I can’t swap it when I want to borrow something of
hers." Candis remarked and slapped Christé’s hand when she reached for a nether fr ench
frie. "You seem to have bought something though." She said pointing at the bag.
"It was a total mistake." Christé said pushing the bag under the table and looking
embarrassed.
"It can’t be that bad." Candis reached for the bag and opened it giving a gasp and then a
snicker. "Umm… then again. Maybe a zebra stripped belt with a bell on it is." Then she
broke out laughing.
Christé snatched the bag from her grasps and snarled. "Hey I never go shopping alone,
ok? Give me a break." Christé placed the bag under that table. Just then she spotted
Rose coming towards them on the other side of the food court. "Hey" Christé called and
waved, glad to change the subject. As Rose got closer, she asked, "What’s in the bag?"
Rose hid the bag behind her back and replied something, mumbled about it being
nothing. Just then Candis grabbed the bag and snickered at its contents.
"Yellow?" was all she could say as she giggled some more. She started to laugh so hard
that she almost knocked over her soda. When her fit of laughter finally subsided she was
able to pull her self together enough to answer Christé’s questions "She bought a bright
yellow vest with little green cats on it." Then to Roses embarrassment the two of them
started to laugh. The only thing Rose could do was do was stalk off to buy some of her
own food.

The three girls had finished their lunch and had decided to leave early because non of
them wanted to do any more shopping. "It’s too bad that Missie wasn’t here to save you
two. But why don’t you return them?" Candis asked.
"Non returnable." Both Rose and Christé said in unison.
"Why don’t we get something to show how much we miss her?" Rose said.
"Ya, but what could we get her, she doesn’t need anything." Candis pointed out.
"I got it!" Christé declared and then ran off towards a little both. Both Rose and Candis
looked at each other puzzled and then followed.

Missie rolled over and groaned. She hadn’t felt so miserable for a long time. She wished
that she could be with Candis, Rose and Christé when they went shopping. They always had
fun when they went to the mall, trying things on, eating ice cream and just hanging out
together. Missie was just thinking of all the fun that they had together when a soft knock
came at the door, "Come in." she crocked.
In walked Christé, Rose and last was Candis. "Hey" they said as they walked up beside her.
They all had a mischievous look on their faces, particularly Candis who had her hands
behind her back.
"What’s going on?" Missie asked with a bit of suspicion in her voice.
"Oh nothing." Rose said causally. "We just got back from the mall and we got you
something to help you get better." Then Candis handed her a picture of the three of them
together. This was not unusual, the ducks got picture a lot when they went to the mall,
but the funny thing was that Rose was wearing a florescent yellow vest, Christé was
holding a black and white striped belt, and Candis had the most confused look on her face.
The picture was in a home made frame that consisted of the material from the vest, pieces
of the belt including the bell, and a lot of felt question marks.
"What in the world is the story behind this?" Missie asked unable to help snickering at
the gift because it made her laugh.
"Well," Christé said, "when we were at the mall we realized that without you there to
guide us we were hopelessly lost in a fashion crises! So we thought that we would warn
you that if you don’t get better soon that this was what we would look like."
"Oh you have got to get back to your self soon!" Candis pleaded. "I couldn’t buy a single
thing. I have you buy new clothes or I’m going to go crazy!" Missie just laughed and
then groaned because it hurt to laugh to hard.
"Um excuse me girls, but Missie’s got to rest or she’ll never better." Tanya said from the
door of Missie’s room.
"We are just leaving." Candis said and then turned back to Missie. "You do whatever the
doctors says, ya hear?"
"Ya, take what ever gross, disgusting, puckish medicine that she gives you, ok?" Christé
said, shuddering at the thought.
"Just don’t go ballistic like I did, I don’t think Wildwing has gotten over the nightmares
yet." Rose said, jokingly referring to the time when she had gotten he flu and she had
almost killed Wildwing when he went to sedate her.
Then all three walked out, leaving Tanya standing at the door, "Try and go to
sleep. You’ll feel better in the morning." Tanya turned out the light and shut the door. In
five minutes Missie was asleep.
Okay, Christé wrote this, not me, but I had to edit it slightly, to make it Candis instead of Joy, since Joy no longer exists in my fandom.
