Men’s Co-President Message

Well, it is has been quite a year. Some of the socials were booming successes and others fell a little short. However, we now need some volunteers to keep the group going.   If you have an interest in keeping our alliance here in Southern Maryland we need your time and efforts. And believe me there are rewards. The people met at the Pride Day Booth makes the long day very worthwhile. And the interesting new people and old friends at the gatherings makes for interesting conversation and many fond memories.
Unfortunately we currently have very few volunteers to take the lead and keep our little social group going. We need your input as to find out if you are still interested in this organization. Please reply either by e-mail to one of the officers or through the e-mail for the organization.
Now for some unfortunate news. I have been advised by my doctor that I have to limit my civic responsibilities. I currently have more obligations than I can handle. These include a recent temporary promotion at work, attendance in theological seminary, the church organist, and also the responsibility of raising a teenage child here at home. I am being forced to cut back on outside activities. Therefore, I must tender my resignation as Men's CO-President effective January 30, 2003.
This was a difficult decision for me but time and health require that I limit my activities. I will be more than happy to assist wherever possible should you as members take the lead and continue this organization.
But let me take this time to thank all of the members and officers who helped keep this organization going these past two years.

TREASURER'S TWO CENTS WORTH
It's been awhile since I have written, just wanted to reinforce how critical it is for us to find volunteers and new officers.   Officially the club is without officers, due to the fact that their terms were over the end of December. So far we have not had any responses to our request for nominations or volunteers. Although at the moment we aren't jumping ship, we need your HELP.   To continue and be a successful social group as we have been, it does take teamwork to keep things going and coordinated well. Several of the old board member's are willing to assist and volunteer when necessary to see new board members through the change of hands.   We truly want to see Southern Maryland Social Group continue to grow in the coming years!   If you have enjoyed the many great events through the years, then please contact us as soon as possible.
Thank You for any Assistance you may be able to give this group!

From The Secretary

Please understand, SMSG is in danger of becoming disbanded. We need new officers in order to keep this organization from becoming just a page in G&L history. We've been making this plea since September with no volunteers, except for one couple who might be interested in the Secretarial position. Think about what it would mean to you not to have a choice of attending a social each month where you can be among other G&L Southern Marylanders. SHEILA
