Ahh, don't I know everything about this station
off by heart. Located at 880 Dalhousie Drive. 3 bays, wonderful hose tower.
If you look to the left of the entrance door (not the big ones, the service
door), you will see two floors of windows. The upper floor is full of sleeping
facility while the lower floor is where the kitcken is located. It gets
an average of 1200 calls a year. Apparatus: Quint 23 and Tanker 23.
This station used to have: Pumpers 441, 442, 443 and Fire Chief
F55. Fire Chief F55 went to Station 26 (and became District 26) when it was build in 1994; 441 went
to Station 22 (and became Engine 22) when it was build in 1977, Station 23 was build in 1968;
443 was taken out of service because of department cuts. 604 and 321 were
stationed at Station 22 but when the ambulance went there, they were both
assigned at this station. 321 broke-down and would not be repaired so Station 23 got a Brand New Quint. A Quint is 5 things in one! (rope, house line, water tank, oxygen bottles and ladder) The Quint at this station replaced both Pumper 442 and Aerial 321. Tanker 604 stayed here and became Tanker 23.
I would like to thank all the firefighters at this station for giving all the tours and for letting me hang around with them for 4 years. I really like that. And since this is the Station I LOVE the most I dedicate 23's Page to all the firefighters out there in the World who work so hard to keep the streets safe. Remember, I'm always on your side!!
