11-28-99 - This weekend/holiday vacation has been one of the better times in my life. I've spent the majority of it with my pals, Alia and Derek. Not telling my 'rents where I am and then coming back after 1 a.m. has a certain flare to it that I like. And it's not that I'm out doing anything bad. I'm usually just 10 feet away at Alia's (or 11 feet away at Derek's). Tonight, tho, was the icing on the cake. And may I add that it was some damn good icing. :)
As some of you may know, I REALLY wanted to get tickets to the free Smash Mouth concert at the Metropol. I called B94 for three days straight. I even woke up at 3 in the morning to call. Every time I called, tho, it was busy. I finally gave up and realized I wasn't gonna get to go. Then B94 said they were giving the last of the tickets away in Pittsburgh. Dorothea asked me last night if I wanted to go up with her and try to win the tickets. Long story short - we went, and we got the tickets. B94 announced where Jonny Hartwell was with the tickets, and we found him pretty easily. The only problem was that there was no parking. Dorothea fixed that problem, tho, and stopped the car in the middle of the street. She put the blinkers on, and we ran down to the B94 truck. I started jumping up and down, and then I ran around screaming. hehe. But let's 'jump' ahead to the concert....Smash Mouth....They put on the BEST show. First off, Steve Harwell is sooo nice. He let this girl come on stage and he threw free t-shirts into the crowd. And I can't forget to mention how hot he is! And ya know what, I'm still so pumped from the show, that this whole thoughts page sucks. It's horribly written. I can't even begin to describe how close we were to Smash Mouth, how good they played, or the feeling in my stomach when Jonny Hartwell handed me a ticket that said 'Smash Mouth. Free. November 28, 1999 at 7:30.' This whole Thanksgiving vacation was one big natural high for me. I am so proud of myself for overcoming the things that have been holding me back in life. I am so proud of myself for letting myself go, for having fun, for understanding that you can't let others dictate how great your life can be...I give props to those of you who stood by me and supported me. I love all of you. May God bless you with the chance of someday seeing Smash Mouth live. :)

Check out pictures from the Smash Mouth concert.

Everybody's been telling me how great my pictures are and that I was so close to Smash Mouth. I've decided to come clean, tho. These aren't really my pictures. It's just a link to B94's pictures. :)
