In San Francisco, the three vastly different Halliwell sisters are reunited in the grand Victorian home of their childhood: Prue the oldest, is driven to succeed and dislikes the free-spirited antics of the youngest sister, Phoebe. Piper, the earthy middle sister, mediates between her siblings. The Halliwell sisters are not just ordinary girls or ladies walking around, flirting, shopping, working, not even a full time home body. The Halliwells don't just differ from other on their own ways. They are the most extraordinary person you'll ever met. They may look a natural and simple looking women but they don't. They are the Charmed Ones, the most powerful enemy of evil. The best and the most powerful witches, the Power of Three.  The three Halliwell sisters knew about their family history but they never had any idea that they are destined to continue their family's legacy, to save the innocents, until they found the Book of Shadows that open their witchly power. Prue, the eldest among the sisters, has the power to move object, Piper, middle sister, got the power to freeze time, and Phoebe, the youngest and most vulnerable was able to see the future. Phoebe feeling unable to help on saving an innocent studied self defense.

                        They spend most of their time saving the innocents. They lived, risking their life, to save the innocents. The sisters then met Leo, the handsome young plumber. Both Piper and phoebe fall on Leo's captivating looks. Phoebe, later on learned that Leo was their whitelighter (a sort of angel, who died doing a heroic deeds, assigned to guide a witch), but Leo was then falling for Piper. The elders (the highest level of good power) are against Leo and Piper's love. Whitelighters are not allowed to feel love most specially to their charge. But Piper and Leo fight for their love and proven it true. the elders then allow them to get married. Phoebe then fall for a guy named Cole Turner, who later tried to kill the Charmed Ones, being Belthazor, a high level demon and the Source (the highest evil power) right hand. the sisters made a potion to take Cole's demonic powers and turn him mortal.

                        Saving innocents can be so rewarding and risky. But accidents happens with (by the help of Phoebe's power) or without warning. Saving a doctor from some demons killed Prue. The sisters grieve, specially Piper, being closed to Prue. They try to cope on Prue's death. they don't know how would they save innocents without the power of three.

                        It's been time since Prue died when they learned about their other sister. Their mother had a secret affair with her whitelighter  Sam, and got a daughter. She was given up by Patricia, their mother, and Sam because a witch and whitelighter affair is forbidden. Paige Matthews, the other Halliwell sister, was adopted by two great persons who both died in a car accident. They try to look for her. When they have found her, Paige, at first don't believe. Piper and Phoebe are desperate enough to reorganize the Power of three. But they were all shocked when Paige came by her own will and ready to accept her destiny being a Charmed One.
