WE'RE HOME FROM CHINA!

OUR FIRST UPDATE!

October 8th, 2005

The flight home went well. Both Gwion and Ceinwen were good on the flight. There were four Chinese babies on the flight as Debbie and James (who’d adopted Lulu Mei from Nanfeng, too) were also coming back with us. We flew World Traveller Plus, and this section of the plane was half empty, so Gwion had plenty of room to run around between all the empty seats, go and speak to all the babies and have a bit of fun! Neither him nor Ceinwen really slept much on the ten hour journey home.

My Dad met us at Heathrow airport. We took a long time getting our bags, mainly because we had to wait for ages for the buggy to appear. Last into the hold, and last off! It was sad saying “goodbye” to everyone at Heathrow. We were now all alone!

Journey back to my parents was OK. Gwion slept a little bit. Mam was waiting for us when we got in. Ceinwen went all shy and clung desperately to me. She cried when Mam reached out to her.

We stayed a couple of nights with my parents to get over the flight before the 5 hour drive back home. It gave us time to see all my family. Ceinwen started to relax with my parents and would eventually allow my Mam to hold her, as long as she couldn’t see me!

Morgan, Melanie, Aimee and Hollie came 'round, and it was interesting to see how Ceinwen and Hollie would react to each other. Hollie is seven weeks' younger than Ceinwen, but much bigger and is already crawling. Ceinwen is just attempting to crawl. They actually didn’t take too much notice of each other!

Then we went to see Georgina who was hoping to have had her baby by now, but hasn’t! Gwion was quite shy initially, but soon came out of his shell and played with Carla. Ceinwen went to Carla first, and by the end of the evening did go to Georgina, but not for very long!

Both kids slept in the car on the first half of the journey home. We stopped in Birmingham to see Olwen, Phil, Charlie and the new baby, Lola!

We finally got home just after 6:00 p.m., and now the hard work begins....settling back down to a routine!
