Back at the Palace, Gemini returned to Neptune in a rush. “Gemini, thank goodness you’re all right.”
“Neptune, Orion’s losing the fight. The darkness is controlling him and we can’t stop it.”
The remaining sisters came out of their chambers and were starting to get nervous. Gemini was extremely concerned about Orion. “I can’t just… leave him to lose this battle.” She muttered out loud. She turned to her husband, and urged him, “Neptune, I have to go after Orion. I can’t lose him to the darkness that took my brother.”
“Do what you wish, my love. Just hurry, I’m afraid he only has so much time left.”
She rushed out of the Palace, following his cries of pain and anguish. “Don’t worry, Orion, Oceana and I will set you free.” She rushed to find Oceana, the only one who could save him. She was laying on the ocean floor, almost motionless. Gemini approached her quickly and tried to wake her up. “Oceana, you have to get up. Orion’s in danger.” Marina and Misty joined their mother. “Oceana’s exhausted from her last minute battle with the black dragon. He was trying to break into the cave and destroy Orion and it took a lot of her strength to destroy him.”
“Where is the dragon now?”
“Gone… Oceana’s pure light destroyed him for good.”
“Oceana, c’mon. Orion needs you. I’m afraid he’s going to die in the hands of the darkness.” Gemini tried to shake her awake when she had one of her sparkly blue eyes fully open. Oceana got up and rushed to the sealed cave as she felt Orion needed her now more than ever. Marina shouted, “Oceana, you have to save him from this evil. Please help him!”
For the first time, Oceana spoke, telepathically, “As you wish, Marina. Orion must be saved and returned to where he belongs.” She glowed brightly and sung a really loud note and the seal Orion used to block the entrance of the cave broke. The evil didn’t stand a chance once Oceana charged into the cave, unleashing her inner light at its full power. “Since you have returned my crystal, Orion, my light can heal you, and take away all of your pain. Trust the love and the light inside of your heart.”
Everything of darkness in the cave became silver crystals of light and the light stunned Orion’s dark side. He screamed in pain and horror and the darkness in his heart dissolved out of existence.
Free from the dark influence in his soul, he was shaking in fear and confusion. He shakily groaned in pain as he stared blankly into space. Oceana warmly purred and wrapped herself around him to release the lingering darkness that was hurting him so badly. He was so shaken up that he couldn’t hear Oceana say, “It’s all right, Orion. Don’t be afraid. You’re safe now.”
Every bit of darkness from his heart and soul was gone, but this was his second encounter with the evil darkness of Hades, which severely damaged his soul, making him weaker than ever before. He muttered, “Adam was right…”
He stumbled over, coughing in pain and weakness. His eyes were getting heavier and heavier. Unable to keep them open, he fell to the ground, motionless. Oceana picked him up, wrapped her body around him to warm up his cold heart. He swallowed, opening one eye for a short moment, “Oceana,” He coughed. “What happened back there?” He scanned everything around him, smiling slightly, “Did we win?”
“Yes, you were wonderful, Orion. We won, but we almost lost you to the darkness.”
He swallowed again, “I’m afraid, Oceana. I’m afraid.” He started crying, softly, but shouted, “I’m afraid!”
Gemini comforted him, “Take it easy, Orion. You’ve been through an awful lot.”
“Don’t you get it?” He stared at her with teary eyes. “I’m afraid that I won’t be able to make back to my sweet Penelope.” He shut his eyes, “I feel so weak.”
Suddenly, much to the shock of the mermaids, his tail was slowly disappearing and his legs were slowly coming back. His lungs would replace his gills in no time at all. The drastic changes caused him to fall into a very deep coma. Gemini cried, “Orion, Orion, please hang on, we’re going to get you help!”
He was immediately rushed back to the Palace where Melanie and Marissa worked through the night to cure him. Misty and Marina fused together the scale of each dragon to make the transformation pendant for his journey back if he was to make it through this process. They placed it around his neck just as the sisters fed him the curing serum, which contained elements from each of the sisters. Misty was happy that he was going to make it, but was sad that she wouldn’t get to see him or to talk to him again for a long time. Gemini stroked his head, “Don’t worry, Orion. You’re safe now and you’re going home.”
Although his spirit could hear her, Orion was unable to wake up because he was in another place inside his mind.
