“What?” she asked breathlessly.
“What do you think, girl?” Justin asked a little impatiently.
“I’m not.”
The couple looked at each other and then stared at the woman, “Um, could you elaborate just a little bit more?” Justin asked.
“I’m not thinking a damn thing. I’m not. What?” The thoughts were jumbled in her head.
“We finally short circuited her brain. Damn, if this was all it took, we’ve waited five years too long to announce this.”
That comment cleared her head a bit, “Hey, fuck you.” She was back on track.
“There’s the Latoya we know and love.” JC remarked.
She rolled her eyes, “I don’t know what to say.”
“I think I like you speechless.” Justin winked.
“I believe I’m supposed to want to carry your child. Dear God, please tell me you’re the sperm donor, Josh. Don’t expect many great things from Timberlake spawn.” She warned with a straight face.
JC lit up, “Does that mean you’ll do it?” He ignored Justin’s scowl, as did Latoya.
“No. I’m just giving you some well-needed advice. JC, Justin, you guys know that I want kids. And I’m so honored that you chose me. And I’d do anything I can to help you get a baby but I can’t do such a big thing like that.”
“Why not?” Justin asked. He held onto Latoya’s hand and JC moved to sit on the arm of the chair beside her and held onto her other hand. “You want kids, we want kids. It’s a win-win situation here.”
“There are many reasons why. The most important being a kid, preferably, should be raised in a household with two parents, that are married. And I couldn’t give up my baby for anything in the world.”
“We’re not asking you to. We already figured that out.” Justin said.
“No. You see my kid would definitely have to live with me. I’m not a big sharer when it comes to something like that. And that wouldn’t be fair to you two.”
“I had a feeling you’d want the baby to stay with you and we understand that. And we don’t mind.” JC filled in.
“And I might get married one day. I mean, I am getting up there in age but I could possibly find the love of my life and then I’ll have a kid and-”
“And if he really loved you, he wouldn’t mind our child. What’s your next argument?” Justin smirked.
“Couldn’t you guys find someone more…uh, more, well…how could I put this?”
“More white?” JC asked. “Caucasian?”
She grinned sheepishly, “Well yeah. I mean nothing against you but how about someone who was-”
“Let me tell you something. We didn’t choose you because of your color. We chose you because you’re you. It doesn’t matter if you are black, white or purple. We want you.” Justin smiled with wet eyes. “Please reconsider?”
She stared at the couple feeling their burgeoning hope in the air. She gulped nervously. “Well if I went with it exactly how am I going to get pregnant?”
“You’re a damn doctor of pharmacy! You never learned about sex?”
“Get fucked,” she replied in a monotone voice.
“I did just before you came here. Thank you very much.” Justin slurped loudly. JC lightly hit him on his shoulder
“I don’t recall asking to hear about your sexcapades. I know all about how to make a baby. Seeing as how you’re gay and married, like I pointed out before,” she said slowly. “Exactly how did you plan to impregnate me?”
“From far, far away,” Justin guffawed. “Actually artificial insemination.”
“I wasn’t kidding you know. Me have a Timberlake baby? I refuse to be a receptacle for his semen.” She pointed to the blonde man awkwardly.
“You should be so lucky.”
“Please,” she rolled her eyes. “I pass, sweetie.”
“JC doesn’t mind being my receptacle.”
“Justin!” JC reprimanded. “Not here, okay? We are trying to show her the joys of having our child.”
“What’s wrong with me?” He frowned and folded his arms.
“The correct question is, what is right with you?”
“JC,” he whined. “She’s making fun of me and our name. Defend us,” he pouted.
“But she’s so good at it. Who am I to refuse?” JC countered. Justin pushed his bottom lip even farther.
She smirked at the blonde. “You know I love you, JC.”
“Well me too,” Justin pouted childishly.
“Justin you’re thirty. Kindly act like it.”
“Hey, in two years you’ll be thirty as well. And I distinctly remember you stating that you wanted to have a child before then so let’s have a baby. And you don’t have to worry about whose sperm you’ll use; we are mixing both of ours together. It doesn’t matter who the father is.”
She reached out and grabbed their hands, “Well, if the kid comes out, walking with a pet rock, we’ll know who is the daddy,” she winked at Justin.
“You know you love me.” Justin laid his head on her shoulder. “Latoya, let’s make a baby,” he purred in her ear.
She sighed, “Unfortunately, I do love you. And I, well what about cost? I mean yes you two have shitloads of money and I’m not going to be joining the unemployment line anytime soon and it looks like I answered my own question.”
“Yep,” JC leaned down on her other shoulder, still holding onto her hand. “I know you have a million thoughts going on in your ten pound brain, so share.”
“If, I went through with the process, the first three months our baby would stay with me and then I’d go back to work and Justin can be Mr. Mom since he doesn’t work.”
“I should be offended but I’m not,” Justin murmured into her skin.
She continued, “I’d make the second bedroom a nursery and third bedroom can be your bedroom. I have a feeling you two are going to be like hawks as parents. And then when I go back to work, baby can stay with you during the day and with me at night. Weekends can be worked out. You’ll have to make a nursery here and a bedroom for me, well the guest room I usually use is fine. Oh my God, what will my family say? What does your family say? Joey, Chris and Lance? What about them?”
“Well I think your mother will be cool with. Maureen is totally cool. And my mother wanted me to marry you at one time, so you having our kid would be a wonderful consolation prize.” Justin joked.
“My mother was ecstatic and told us that if you weren’t convinced, she’ll fly all the way to New York to convince you to change your mind. And Lance laughed. He said that the world wouldn’t be ready for Justin/Latoya baby.”
“Hell, I’m not ready for a Justin/Latoya baby.” The woman scoffed.
JC giggled as Justin muttered under his breath, “Joey said he was ready to become an Uncle. We waited too long to ask you, he said. And Chris, he feels that he is ready to settle down and watch us raise a baby.”
Latoya laughed out loud, “I know I love those guys. And both of your families?”
“Are waiting by the phones waiting to hear what your answer is.” JC filled in.
“Well JC you knew the damn answer already. I already made plans for the baby and us.”
“Well yes but I’d love to hear you say it.” JC felt tears begin to brim his eyes. Justin and his’ dreams were coming true.
“Me too,” Justin said, shaking his leg happily.
Latoya squeezed their hands, “Okay, we’re having a baby.”
