Bodiam Castle
Bodiam Castle, built in the 14th century, is one of the earliest examples of a
fortress in which comfortable living quarters were planned. Although it is a
ruin, the hall, chapel, and other residential areas can be seen. The original
iron-plated oak portcullis is still in place at the main entrance.
