The Doors Review

This is the area where I review each of the Doors' six cds, at length. But before I start I suggest you read this.

For me, it is easy it critique the albums, because when listening to them, all you can do is constantly think of the good things about it. It is, however, fairly difficult to rate each one from best to worst. L.A. Woman, I can say is the best. Then Strange Days, but then how can you possibly rate them any further? Certain elements of each other album are as good as Strange Days or L.A. Woman, and I'm not sure Strange Days can be considered any better than The Doors, or Waiting for the Sun. I like L.A. Woman because it is the bluesiest, but so is Morrison Hotel, so why isn't that second? I don't know, but the way I originally had them plotted out as from best to worst goes as follows: L.A. Woman, Strange Days, The Doors/Morrison Hotel tied for third, The Soft Parade, and lastly, Waiting for the Sun. I don't really like to think of The Soft Parade and Waiting for the Sun as the worst Doors' albums, I just think of them as the fifth and sixth best albums ever, so that's not bad. And what's so wrong with them that they're below all the others? I honestly couldn't tell you, maybe something along the lines of mood and preparation. Anyways, enjoy the reviews, and tell all your friends to visit the site... We're so lonely.Note from Matt: In our reviews we may say things like "this song would have gone well on this cd", by this we mean that each Doors album has a diffrent feel and style to it than the others. Not to say that that the Doors have a style of music, just ones more common than the others (their most common would be a mix of blues and Rock). Morrison Hotel has more of a blues feel to it, while Strange Days would be more soft melodic feel. So when listening to a Doors album keep your ears open and don't say "That's not their style" but rather listen to what's on the rest of the album and how each song goes together.
