If you were to ask someone what the biggest flaw in DOTD was, I can guarantee they'd say the zombie make-up. And you can't really deny it - it is absolutely crap. Since when have dead people turned blue? Other films, namely Day of the Dead , Zombie and the 1990 Night remake have superceeded the efforts in Dawn and give a far more vivid depiction of death and decay, although there is something about the Dawn zombies that cannot be ignored. When you watch the film, there is some eerie quality to the zombies, the way they walk, the way they are in permanent trances, the way they sometimes don't seem to be actors. No matter how hard I try, every time I watch the movie I find it hard to identify the actor hiding behind the blue make-up.
