Chapter 5
We finished shooting that night just before midnight. We still had a scene or two to finish up the next day, but we would need the day light. I was shown to the room I’d be sleeping in and immediately I kicked off my heavy boots and changed in to a comfortable tee shirt and jeans.
I sprawled out on the bed with my laptop, but didn’t get far writing an e-mail to a friend back home when there was a knock at the door. My mind instantly switched from the letter I was writing to Maria. I’d been able to sneak off the set two more times that afternoon to see her, but I was already feeling the ache of being without her.
I opened the door and found her with that unmistakable grin just as I had expected. Without a word she out stretched her hand and I took it. We silently crept down the hallway and out of the sprawling mansion. Our speed increased to a run as she led me toward the coast.
We traveled a short distance down the shoreline running and laughing, and splashing each other as the waves crashed up and tickled our feet. Soon the sandy shore came to an abrupt halt and a bed of jagged rocks lay in front of us. Confidently Maria climbed halfway up the incline before taking a seat on a rock large enough for the two of us. I followed quickly.
“Isn’t it fun to be doing something we are supposed to be doing?” she asked in an excited whisper. I could only nod. “What are you thinking right now?” she asked.
“This place, it brings out the rebel in me, you bring it out too” I told her. “I just want to be with you all day long and forget about all of my responsibilities.”
“You could” she suggested in a playful tone.
“I think I’d have a number of people unhappy with me” I said half resentfully.
“I understand,” she said softly. She had almost a sad tone in her voice.
“I’m sorry” I told her in a whisper.
“Its okay. I love it here. I feel so free, but I suppose it does get lonely sometimes. I don’t see many people besides my parents. You and your family, you have been a blessing to have around and I thank you” she said.
There was so much truth in her voice, and her eyes we so earnest. I couldn’t say anything. Instead I leaned in and brushed my lips against hers. As always our kisses escalated quickly. “Maybe we should go inside” I mumbled out of breath after a few minutes. Maria nodded her head in agreement.
We sneaked back into the house as quietly as possible. Back in my room I climbed eagerly on the bed and propped myself up with some pillows watching Maria intently. She lit a couple candles on the nightstand, and switched the lamp off before crawling over to me.
For a moment or two we stared deep into each other’s eyes. I couldn’t believe how breath takingly beautiful she was in the candlelight. Finally her lips we back on mine, kissing me softly. I took initiative and deepened the kisses. Soon I moved a pillow out of the way and softly pushed her back into a reclining position and crawled on top of her.
Our kissed traveled all over each other’s faces and neck, never stopping. The way her body pressed into mine, moving just slightly, made me want to have her completely right then and there. But I felt it would be inappropriate so soon. Instead I settled for the more decent, yet still satisfying experience of just kissing her.
After a long time we finished, and Maria curled up in my arms. “Taylor, after you leave tomorrow, will ever you come back to visit me?” she asked softly.
I nodded. “I promise I will.” She smiled and gave me one final kiss before resting her head on my chest and closing her eyes to sleep. I carefully turned and blew the candles out. With that I closed my eyes too and fell asleep.
