Chapter 1

I closed my eyes concentrating on the music coming from my headphones, willing to plane to move faster. The plane was taking me back to see my beautiful Maria. It had been almost three months since I’d last seen her, and I couldn’t wait to see her again, not to mention the surprise I had for her.

The past two years had been hard ones. Although I told Maria she could accompany us on tour, she would only do so for a couple weeks at a time, and then go back home to see her parents. Whenever I had time off I’d go to visit her, and a couple times she had come to Tulsa to visit me, but it wasn’t the same. I missed her like crazy when I didn’t get to see her. I loved her so much.

Fortunately it wasn’t long before I felt and heard the familiar lurching of the plane as it switched into landing mode. As soon as I was able to get off the plane and I quickly gathered my bags, picked up my rental car, and was off driving the now familiar highway to Maria’s home.

Finally arriving, I got out of the car and stretched my legs out. Within a minute Maria came rushing out to meet me; she always did. She jumped into my arms, and I held her tight, burying my nose in her soft brown hair. I indulged in her presence with ever sense I had. “I missed you so much baby” I whispered in her ear.

“I missed you too,” she said softly, placing a tantalizing kiss on my lips. For what seemed like hours we stood just holding each other, enjoying the feel of it.

“Maybe we should go inside now,” I finally said laughing a little. Maria smiled back.

“We have so much to catch up on” she said softly she stepped out of my embrace, but took my hand and leading me into the house.

After putting my things away, and briefly greeting her parents Maria and I went outside to the overlook she had taken me to the very first day we met. It was where we spent most of our time together while I was visiting her. We sat for hours on end talking about anything and everything, or just enjoying the presence of one another.

Once arriving we sat on the ground leaning against a large rock. The warm sun beat down on us, and I lazily draped my arm around Maria’s shoulder. “How was the rest of the tour?” she asked softly. She had been with us for a few weeks in the middle of our last tour, but had come home long before it was over.

“It went very well. Great crowds” I told her. “It’s never the same without you though.”

“I know” she whispered, “but you know I have responsibilities here.”

“I just wish I could see you more often baby. I miss you so much when you’re gone” I said. I felt my breath catch in the back of my throat. I hated being without her, just thinking about it hurt.

“Shh, don’t say that now” she said turning and facing my, placing a knee on each side of my lap. “Lets concentrate on the time we have together right now.”

I reached out and ran a hand down her cheek. She was right; we should make the most of each time we had together.

I pulled her face close to mine and placed kisses outside edges, working my way towards the center and eventually to her lips. Her arms enclosed my shoulders as she kissed back. I grinned as she re-familiarized her tongue with my own. I loved how her bold actions always took initiatives.

“Well I’ve certainly missed that,” I said after pulling away a few minutes later.

“There’s plenty more where that came from” Maria used her breathiest voice. I raised an eyebrow. “All in due time of course” she added.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked running my hand up her leg, pushing the skirt of her sundress up with it.

“You’ll see tonight” she whispered in my ear placing a kiss on the lobe before she moved away and looked into my eyes. I smiled devilishly. I couldn’t help it, she brought out that side of me and there was no containing it.
