Chapter 7
The day after Christmas Christine sat in her first class seat impatiently waiting for the pilot to announce that they were almost to the Tulsa airport. She knew it was wishful thinking. They had only taken off about a half an hour earlier, but it seemed like an eternity. She couldn’t wait to land so she could see Taylor again.
Knowing it would be a while she opened up her carry on bag and pulled out her cd player and cd case. Flipping through the pages of the case she decided on a Hanson cd. She often listened to them when she missed Taylor. Hearing his raspy, sexy voice always soothed her a bit.
She slipped the headphones over her ears, stretched out in her seat, and closed her eyes listening to the sounds of his sweet voice filling her ears. A grin found its way on her face as she pictured in her head what it would be like to finally see him again. She absolutely could not wait.
The next thing Christine knew she was being tapped lightly on her shoulder. She opened her eyes and found a stewardess standing near her. “We’re about to land. Please fasten your seat belt again” she told Christine after she had taken her headphones off.
Had she really slept through the whole flight? “Thank you” Christine told her and excitedly began putting her things back in her bag. Butterflies found their way into her stomach.
15 minutes later she was walking through the little gray hallway leading her from the plane to the airport. When she saw the crowd of people waiting she scanned it for a familiar face. She knew it would take a while to find Taylor. He had told her he would be wearing a hat and probably be reading a magazine or doing something as to not draw attention to him.
Finally she found him sitting in a chair a short distance away from the main crowd. You would have thought his shoes were the most amazing things in the world for he was staring at them intently. She was sure he didn’t even know she was standing there before him. “Hey you” she finally found her voice.
He glanced up at her with that perfect, patented Taylor grin fixed on his face. “Hey yourself” he said softly. Then suddenly he jumped up and threw his arms around her. She returned the gesture and buried her face in his shoulder as they shared an embraced so long in the making.
Finally Christine turned her face up to Taylor’s. He smiled down at her for a moment before leaning down and placing a soft, short kiss on her lips.
They quickly made their way through the airport and out to Taylor’s car. Christine threw her bags in the trunk and got into the passenger side. Taylor got into the driver’s side, but failed to turn on the car. Instead he turned to Christine and smiled.
“What are you waiting for?” Christine asked. Without answering Taylor reached his hand behind her neck and pulled her in close. He kissed her passionately their tongues swirling together.
“I couldn’t really do that in there, but I couldn’t wait any longer” Taylor said breathlessly after they broke the kiss.
“Can’t say that I minded” Christine grinned mischievously, and leaned in for more.

Meeting the entire family was quite a trip for Christine, but they were all very friendly and welcoming. Yet after dinner she was very tired from the days events, so she and Taylor escaped from the madness to his bedroom upstairs. “Wanna just watch some TV?” Taylor asked settling onto the bed.
“Sure” she said crawling onto the bed with him and resting her head in his lap. Taylor grabbed the remote and flicked on the TV. He surfed around for a while stopping on some old 80’s movie.
Before long he had made his way into a laying down position next to Christine with his arms wrapped around her waist. He buried his nose in her hair enjoying the soft strawberry scent. It was then that he found a whole new appreciation for her. Being in her presence and being able to enjoy her with all of his senses. The littlest things like the smell of her hair and the sound of her soft breath amazed him like never before.
“I’m so glad you’re here” he whispered placing a kiss on her temple.
“Me too” Christine said softly. She was also enjoying finally being able to experience his presence again. It had a calming effect on her. He made her feel relaxed, and he made her feel safe.
Five minutes passed before either of them said anything. “Are you even watching this?” Taylor finally asked referring to the movie.
“No, I’m too sleepy” Christine admitted.
“Me too” he said as he reached for the remote. He turned the TV off and pulled a blanket around them. Christine switched sides so she was facing him, wrapped her arms around him too. With that they let sleep take them together.
