Pyro is a magician. You won't see him for a while, and think he's gotten bad at breakin, then all of the sudden he shows up out of nowhere and can show up everyone's style in the crew! If there's anyone who can simply surprise you, it's him. You never know what he'll do next.

Questionaire

• Why did you start breakin?
LayZ (Derek) got me into it; I heard him talkin about it with one of his friends and asked him about it and he let me break with him and spYKes (Dave) after school.
• How long have you been breakdancing?
About a year and 2 months I think (check Spykes’ or LayZ’s answer for this question, it?ll be more accurate.
• Do you thing you will stick with it for long? Why?
Yeah, because it’s fun and I’m way too into it to stop now. Even if I did quit, when I saw breakin on TV I’d be like “Dude that guy’s breakin!” and I’d get bored and be like “I’m bored, let’s go break.”
• Honestly, how good do you think you are?
I don’t think I’m all that good yet because I only have a few really good moves and I still need to put together some good combos.
• Who in the crew is/was most helpful to you?
spYKes (Dave) and Flipout (Ben) were the most helpful because even if they don’t have the move they’ll always try to understand the mechanics of it and help me out.
• What is/are your long-term goal(s) for breakdancing?
I have 2 long-term goals for breakin. One is to become as good or better than Ruen, and another is to win a good competition, such as Lords of the Floor.
• Who in the crew do you think breaks best?
LayZ
• Who do you respect most in the crew?
Flipout, he’s dealt with a whole bunch of s*** throughout the entirety of his life but he still does ballet and still breaks.
• What motivates you to overcome your fear and step into a circle?
Seeing someone else go in and get major cheers, like watching LayZ do mills and everyone cheering wicked loud for him. I also like, as LayZ calls it, the “20 seconds of fame.”
• Who in the crew takes leadership?
I think spYKes and Flipout take leadership. If someone is gonna hurt themselves doing something they stop them from doing it and they talk to the big administrative people.
• How many B-Boy names have you had? What were they?
I’ve had 2. My first was Shrump and now I’m Pyro.
• Does breakin’ get in the way of anything for you?
The only thing it gets in the way of is school, because I always break when I should be doing schoolwork and as a result I don’t get homework done and my grades are dropping.
• For motivation, what would you say to a beginner breaker?
I would tell him to keep with it and get a group of friends into it to break with them. They can get motivation from their peers. I would tell them that once they started to understand some of the main motions of breakin they’d start to get a lot of moves at once. As a really good breaker once told Flipout (Ben), spYKes (Dave), and LayZ (Derek), “There’ll come a time in your breakin career where you won’t be able to get any moves. Then, all of a sudden, you’ll get a whole bunch of moves and you’ll be like “Dude, I can shit on people!”
• What motivated you as a beginner?
Having a group of people helping me out is what I think first got me started on it. LayZ (Derek) and spYKes (Dave) helped me out with my turtle position and as soon as I got that and had it for about a month I suddenly got a whole bunch of new moves.
• Usually beginner crews break up. Why do you think xFx survived?
Honestly, I have no idea. At the beginning we weren’t very good friends but then we became better friends as time went on. We just kept on workin at it and we were persistent in our practice.
