Polar Bear Sleep

2001

This is a pic of us first getting there. Unorganized. Me and John laughing our sides off I have no doubt.

Now we pose. Check out the guys huh. Boy we're hams. Everyone wants to be the star of the pic. I don't know. Who do you think is the star of this one?

Hey this is the camp site before it was set up. You can see our dining fly being set up. Over to the left is one of our two dog sleds. Guess who are the dogs. Yup, it's us. Bow wow. I just love pulling the heavy wooden dog sled around a field for a day.

This is a pic of some of the guys at the travoir station. A travoir is three logs lashed togeather in a triangle. Then we have to carry this contraption, with someone sitting on it, about 50 yards.

Here is the guys actually starting on it.

Check this out. With four ropes attached to a flat innertube we had to lift, from a distance, two large size coffee cans, one at a time, and stack them on top of a crate. This had something to do with radioactivity, but I believe that it was just busy work and we will never and would never be able to use this in real life. You can guess how we did at this station.

Check this. Another view of the radioactive circle.

And this is log sawing. The grilscouts really mop the floor with us at this station. No lie. Yea it's pretty sad.

This is me showing my beastly strength and endurance. I was determined to finish strong at this so the grilscouts wouldn't totaly put us to shame. Too late.

Here are a couple of the guys making dinner. Mmm. Foil cooking. My absolute favorite. NOT!!!!!!!! If I wanted foil cooking, I would have eaten warm alluminum foil Mr. Montinez.

Hey I'm on the left, and to my right is a really cool kid named Matt. You may be wondering why we are in T-shirts in the middle of winter. Well, in case you can't figure it out, we are inside. Every Polar Bear we go to a girlscout/boyscout dance in function hall. It is warm.

This just me. Oh well. Nothing to see here people. Move along.

Well here's a few of the guys, looks like Jackson and Zach, trying to catch a few winks while the insanely loud music is playing.

Well, that's it for this campout. Unfortunately, it seems this was the last Polar Bear which stinks because it is such a great time every year.
