Trivia: How often does a lightning stroke happen on Earth?
Every single day there are about ten million strokes of lightning around our planet. That's more than 100 per second, on average. There is some variation with seasons and weather patterns, of course. Lightning strokes happen when air currents in a thunderstorm separate large and small droplets of water or particles of ice. Because these various suspended particles attract different amounts of electric charge, different parts of the storm develop large charges. When the electric charge becomes greater than the air's ability to
resist a spark, a lightning bolt flashes between two parts of the cloud, or between the cloud and the ground. The charge of a bolt of lightning can be up to 20 million volts.
Cool word: petulant (PET-you-lunt), adjective - Impatiently peevish; someone who shows great annoyance or irritation with minor problems.

Well, the article is written, but I’m not sure I like it or if it’s what they’re looking for.
Part of me wants to send it to Michael and ask him to look it over, but the other part is saying that’s really taking advantage of him and he’s got enough of his own stuff to deal with.
The artwork is more of a problem. I’m being so picky that I hate everything that I’ve done so far.
I’m just going to have to suck it up, pick out some that I like, and let them go. Easier said than done, let me tell you!

Today started out with ugly gray skies and rain, but it cleared suddenly to a bright blue sky and clear, sunny day. It made for a great day to perform at the town Heritage Day this afternoon.
There was a large crowd, lots of families wandering from booth to booth, and they seemed to appreciate the break our performance gave them. They were able to sit and listen to us sing for a half-hour. They were very enthusiastic as an audience. Even though we only had about twenty-one chorus members present we had some of our best singers so our sound was very good.
It was an enjoyable way to spend the day.

The rest of the day was taken up with finishing the article and trying to stamp some things that I could send with it.
It was really a nothing kind of day.

I heard from Michael today who told me he was thinking of me last night when he was driving home with the girlfriend because they were listening to the Red Sox game. He’s with the girlfriend but thinking of me.
Am I the only one who finds this odd??
If the Red Sox win tonight I think we’ll have a bit of a friendly rivalry going during the Red Sox vs. Yankees series.
But they could still lose to Cleveland.
And I’ll be depressed.

I know I had thought about taking Tuesday off. But I forgot I had Monday off. Guess I can’t do that.
Actually, when I looked at the schedule for the week, I realized that I’d have to drag myself in to work even if I was dying. We are giving reading tests this week, so I have to be there to help administer them.
I can’t take Wednesday off, as I have the adult ed class, I have a parent meeting on Thursday, and another on Friday. So guess I’ll have to go in every day. Sad that I’m trying to figure out an angle to take time off.

I’m going to go and re-read the article, finish the card I’m working on, check the score of the game, and go to bed. I can’t just sit and watch the game, I get too nervous.
