    X-axis (X,Y,Z axes)
    1)The horizontal line (axis) of a graph or chart.
    2)The three coordinate axes of motion i three-dimensional space. X (width), Y (height), and Z (depth).

    X-Y micing
    A stereo micing technique using two directional microphones aimed in a Y-pattern.

    X-Y pickup
    A mike configuration used in stereo recording in which two directional mikes are mounted next to each other one directed 45 degrees to the right and one 45 degrees to the left.

    XCU
    Script designation for extreme close-up.

    XLR connector
    1)Canon connector. A standard, three-prong professional audio connector.
    2)Multi-pin connector commonly used for audio cable interconnects.

    XLS
    A script designation for extra long shot.
