[...the conflict between W.O.R.D//&//I.M.A.G.E...] OLIVIA

I threw on my dirty jeans and an old sweatshirt. “Hey, Kate, I’m going downstairs for some breakfast. I’ll be back in a little while.”

“Ok, that’s fine, Liv. Now just go, and shut off the light when you go.” She turned over in her bed. I left the room, making sure to turn off the lights and lock the door. I was depressed, I needed to get away from all the lovey-dovey couples. I went down in the elevator to the hotel restaurant.

“Hello miss, table for one?” the host greeted me.

“Yes, one please.” I followed him to a table in the back, away from the crowds.

“I’ll be right back.” He left me to browse the menu.

CLINT

I’ve been walking around downtown all night, trying to decide what to do about Olivia. My heart tells me to go to her and see if we can work things out. But my head tells me that she just loved me to get over Scott, and that working things out won’t help anything, it’ll only make things worse.

I’m tired, cold, and Dad will be looking for us soon. I should be getting back to the hotel. I rounded the corner and saw the entrance to the hotel at the end of the street. I waved to the bellhop and made my way to the elevator.

I stopped, and saw Olivia through the glass. She was sitting in the restaurant, alone, and distraught. This was my one big chance, to talk to her and see if I could win her back.

I ran into the restaurant, to the back of the crowds. She looked up at me and stared confusedly as I ran to her table.

“Clint,” she began. I didn’t let her finish. I took her face in my hands and brought her lips to mine. I kissed her sugary lips and her arms slid around my neck and held me close. Our kiss turned into a kiss of hunger, a kiss of passion, a kiss of true love.

We ended our lip-lock and Olivia stared at me with surprised but loving eyes. “What’s all this about?”

I didn’t say a word. I looked her in the eyes and sang for her in the middle of the restaurant. “Now and forever, you and me together, I can’t believe it’s true, I’m so in love with you. Now and forever, you and me together, I can’t believe it’s true, now and forever and ever.” I looked into her eyes, which were beginning to well up with tears.

“I’m sorry for not believing you. I think we should work things out. I want us to work things out.” I took a locket out from my pocket and strung it around her neck. I kissed her cheek and a tear ran down it. “I need us to work things out.”

KATE

“But Dad! This is my life! I don’t feel like being Mr. Superstar. I want to be normal for a change, have a normal life.” Scott whined to Frank.

“Scott, you know that with your popularity there comes certain sacrifices. Kate and your relationship has become a hindrance to your career. I’m sorry, but I can’t allow you two to be together anymore.” Frank told his son.

I stood in the adjoining doorway, overhearing their conversation. They didn’t know that I was there, but I wished I wasn’t there either. Did this mean Scott and I can’t be together anymore?

“Dad! This is so incredibly unfair! Clint and Olivia are together! Sara and Bob are virtually sleeping in the same bed! And Natalia and Dave are practically joined at the hip! How come Kate and I have to be the ones to end everything?” he shouted to his Dad.

“Son, I know this is hard, and it's not easy to tell my eldest son to stop a relationship with someone he likes, but this is how it has to be. You are like Taylor in Hanson, Nick Carter in the Backstreet Boys. You are the one the audience wants to see, and we can’t have you risking everyone’s career.” His father tried to make him understand.

“Well, then if I have to give up the one thing I’ve been striving for these past months, I don’t want to be a part of this anymore. That’s it, I quit.” Scott slammed the main door to his room.

I stood there silently until Frank acknowledged my presence. “Oh, Kate, how long have you been standing there? Now, I know this may come as a terrible blow to you two, but its in the best interest for the band. I’m sorry. I’ve tried to think of another way to do this, but I just can’t seem to think of one. Will you talk to him? Try to make him understand how much we need him?” Frank looked desperate. I didn’t want to do it, but I went after Scott.

I went down hall after hall, trying to find Scott. I finally found him in a conference room on the second floor. He was standing by himself in the corner, looking out to the streets below. When he saw me come in he looked up at me with a tear stained face.

“Kate, I’m sorry, I just couldn’t do with losing you again after I fought so hard to get you back.” He took my hands in his and held them tightly. I kissed his face and hugged him.

“Let’s run away, just you and me. Let’s get away from here and never come back. We can live together in a little cabin in the woods and grow old together and look after each other and have cute grandchildren. Let’s be together forever.” He rested his head on my shoulder and he began to cry silently. I rubbed his back and tried to calm him down.

“You can’t just leave the band, they need you. We all do. If you leave, its all over. Just do what Frank says for now. We only have a few more weeks together anyway. We can be together after the tour.” I tried to comfort him.

“But after the tour we might never see each other again. We’ll never be together again. You’ll forget about me and go on with your life.” He looked up at me and I wiped away his tears with my fingers, but I couldn’t help my own tears from flowing.

“It’s a tempting offer, it is. But you belong with the band. And we will see each other again. How can I ever forget you? We will be together forever.” I held him tighter and he kissed me. “We have to get back to the group. You are going to stay, aren’t you?” I asked him hopefully.

“Yes, I guess I have to. I just don’t want to lose you. Maybe we can work things out with Dad. Try to like, keep things under wraps for when we are alone on the tour bus or something.” Scott looked at me with hopeful eyes. He kissed me again and we began our return to Frank.

When we got to the room, laughs were coming from Sheila and Frank’s room. It was a girl’s laughter, but it didn’t sound like anyone I knew. We entered the room and found a girl sitting on Frank’s bed. She looked about seventeen or eighteen, with long brown hair. She seemed to know Frank and Sheila well.

“Oh, Scott, Kate, I’m so glad. Is everything worked out?” Frank turned to his son with hopeful eyes.

“Yeah dad, I’m not happy about it. But it’s for the band’s sake,” Scott mumbled to his dad.

“Good, well look who came to visit us. I invited her to come and spend a few days with us. Rebecca, this is Kate,” he introduced me to the girl. She got up and shook my hand.

“Hi! How are you?” she asked me.

“I’m doing alright, better actually.” I glanced at Scott who gave me a weak smile.

“Well, we should go get the other guys, I know they’d want to see you,” Scott said to Rebecca. He left the room and came back with Bob and Dave.

“Rebecca! Oh my god, how are you?” Dave ran over to her and gave her a big hug.

“I’m good, how are you?” Rebecca laughed and glanced at Bob, who was standing quietly in the corner. Natalia and Sara came in the doorway.

“Ahem,” Natalia tried to make herself known. Dave looked back at her and grabbed her hand. “Rebecca, this is Natalia.”

“Hi, it’s nice to meet you,” Natalia tried being very polite. “Are you a friend of the family?” she asked her.

“Yes, I’ve known these guys since we were in preschool together.” She laughed. Sara came up next to Bob and put he put her hand in his.

“Sara, Rebecca. Rebecca, Sara.” Bob showed Sara off to their guest quietly.

“Hi, it’s nice to meet you.” said Sara politely. Rebecca looked at Sara like she was surprised to see her for some reason.

“Nice to meet you too.” Rebecca answered slowly. She glanced at Bob, who was keeping to himself.

“Well, that’s everyone, I think. Wait, where’s Clint and Olivia?” Frank looked around the room to find the couple.

“I saw them last downstairs eating breakfast. But that was two hours ago,” Dave said, glancing at his watch.

“Oh, well, I’ll go get them.” I volunteered. I left the room and went to the elevator to go down stairs. The elevator doors opened to reveal Clint and Olivia kissing passionately.

“Oh! Excuse me, I was just going to look for you.” I smiled devilishly. Olivia turned red and so did Clint.

“Sorry, we’re following you now.” We walked back to the room. Rebecca introduced herself to Liv and Clint said hello to her.

“So, Rebecca, we have to get over to the stage for soundcheck at about 5pm, and then we have the concert. But tonight we can all have dinner, and we have until 5 to do stuff.” Dave talked excitedly as the group walked to their separate rooms.

“Oh, ok. Well, Frank said I can go to the concert tonight. I can’t wait to see you guys up there. It’s been three years since I saw you guys play, and hopefully you play better than you did then!” Rebecca laughed flirtatiously. Natalia looked uncomfortable, but since Tiffany’s visit, she didn’t judge people as quickly.

“Here, you can room with me and Natalia, Becca” I told her. Natalia opened the door and hurriedly began to pick up dirty clothes and empty soda cans.

“Sorry its so dirty in here. We don’t have much time to clean.” Natalia apologized.

“Oh, it’s really ok, I’m just as bad. Maybe even worse.” Rebecca had a casual air about things. But inside that mellowness was flirtatious self-assurance that made Bob quiet and Natalia worried. She seemed ok to me though.

BOB

“Ok, that’s it for soundcheck you guys, get backstage and get changed. The crowds are starting to form outside.” Frank ushered us off backstage. The girls had a habit of sitting around and watching us practice after their soundcheck was over. It didn’t seem to bother Clint Dave and Scott, but I felt self-conscious with Sara out there critiquing me.

We went into our dressing room and began getting changed. “Hey, Bob?” Dave called to me. “Yeah?”

“Where’s your blue shiny shirt? Can I borrow it?” Dave rummaged through my bag.

“Hey! How come you always have to borrow my clothing?” Dave gave me a pitiful look. “It’s in there, you just have to look.” He found it and buttoned it up over a white tee shirt.

Scott came out of the bathroom wearing black leather pants, and a white dress shirt. “Hey Scott, I guess tonight you’re gonna be taking off your shirt, huh?” Clint joked with him.

“Oh yeah, I only wear the leather pants when I lose the shirt.” He gave an evil smile and tied a bright green tie around his neck.

“How does it go again? First song, lose the hat. Second song, lose the tie. Third song, lose a button and so on, right?” Dave spiked up his hair with gel. Scott gave Dave a look and went back to picking out his shoes.

“Isn’t it so good to see Becca again? I missed her. We used to have so much fun together.” Dave said happily.

“Yeah, we all know that Bob used to have tons of fun.” Scott smiled devilishly and I blushed. “How long has it been since Bob and Bec have seen each other?”

“Three years, two months. October 16th, 1996.” I remembered the day exactly. She broke my heart.

“Wow, man. I can’t believe you still remember that. You used to have such a crush on her, it was hilarious. You would follow her around everywhere.” Clint pulled a wifebeater over his head and buckled his leather belt.

“I can remember saying to Clint, hey man, since when did Becca have two shadows?” Scott told me. Dave burst out laughing.

“Yeah, I know this is all so funny to you, but I really don’t want Sara to know about this. Ok? I just don’t want her to find out. Can you do this for me? Just don’t say anything?” I struggled with my brothers to keep my little secret.

“Yeah, man, whatever you say. But what a reunion.” Clint put on a bright Hawaiian shirt and gelled his hair too.

“Are we ready to go? Those girls must be waiting for us.” Dave shooed us out of the room and shut the door. “Why do they always insist on saying a prayer before going on stage? We don’t go on-stage until after they do.” Clint asked us.

“I don’t know. They’re holy girls. Except for Nati. She’s the antichrist.” Scott brushed the hair out of his eyes. Dave giggled.

KATE

We sat in the backstage. We had already been on-stage and now we were just sitting around doing nothing, while the boys finished their performances. Rebecca joined us in the backstage, and because of our immense boredom and curiosity about the her and boys’ past together, we began to ask her questions. But not before she asked us questions like we were being interviewed.

“You guys have an interesting mixture of musical backgrounds. What do you classify yourselves as?” she asked us.

“Well, we try not to classify ourselves too much, but I guess we are a mixture of rock/pop/alternative. We just play from our hearts. See, Olivia is the folk music of the band, I guess I’m the pop, Sara is the classic rock, and well, Natalia’s everything else, the alternative/hard rock/goth style that makes us kinda weird,” I told her, cocking my head to the side.

“Wow, Kate, that’s a good assessment. I’ve just always called us the female equivalent to the Moffatts,” Natalia said.

“Except we don’t strip onstage like Scott does.” Olivia told her.

“Well, I assumed that. I’ve heard a lot about you guys actually. From the radio and TV and magazines, you know.” Rebecca combed her fingers through her hair.

“Oh, that’s so cool. Yeah, we basically have found out by now that people like us. It’s actually beginning to get hard to go out without people stopping us,” Natalia explained.

“Oh really? Wow. Well, remind me to get your autographs before I leave,” Rebecca laughed. We sat there in silence until somebody piped up.

“So, tell us what the boys were like when they were younger. I really want to find out what stupid things they’ve done,” I said, taking a seat in front of her.

“Funny that you ask. Well I guess the majority of idiotic things they have done would have had to be with me present. Let’s see, who do you want to hear about first?” Rebecca racked her brain for experiences.

“I’ve got to hear about Dave. I know he’s done stupid things before, I just want to hear them from your mouth.” Natalia pleaded.

“Oh god, how much time do you have? Well Dave is two years younger than I, and so I would always pretend that he was my baby doll and I would dress him up in baby clothes and try to fit him in my carriage. But the thing is, he didn’t mind it at all! He enjoyed it in fact. Oh it was great, he played the part of baby girl for me for many years.” She told us. Natalia looked at her like ‘you have got to be kidding me’.

“Dave’s never gonna hear the end of it from her now. Natalia never lets us forget anything.” Olivia said.

“True,” Natalia said, smiling. “But think of all the fun we could have with it.”

“Tell us about Scott now, he’d be so embarrassed. I’d love it.” Sara asked her.

“Well, we all used to go to the beach for a few weeks in the summer when we were younger. When Scott was about five, we went to the beach one day because it was beautiful out. Little Scott was making a sand castle or something, I don’t remember, and all of a sudden he announced he had to go the bathroom. So, he gets up, walks to the water’s edge, whipped out his schlong, and went right there! You can imagine the horrified looks on the mother’s faces, trying to get their innocent little daughters away from him. He was so casual about the whole thing, and afterwards, Frank asked him, like, every five minutes if he needed to go to the bathroom. It was so funny!” Rebecca told us, incredibly without laughing until the end. But I was laughing so hard that I fell out of my chair. Olivia was laughing too and helped me up.

“Well, Scott’s no stranger to nudity, we’ve all seen that.” Natalia said, between gasps of air.

“And what a beautiful sight it was, too,” Liv said, grinning.

“Well, you should know, your eyes were glued on it long enough.” I said nastily.

“Uh, did I miss something?” Rebecca said.

“Scott was getting into the shower one day, and Liv didn’t know, so she went into the bathroom to get her brush. She walked in on him just as he was getting into the shower, he was stark naked. We all saw him,” Sara explained.

“Oh my god, really? Well he should be used to it by now. Jesus, that boy’s gonna be a male stripper when he grows up,” Rebecca laughed.

“Oh I know right? Ok, so tell us something about Clint. He can’t be as perfect as Liv says he is,” Natalia said, grinning at Liv.

“Oh, shut up, you’re just jealous,” Liv countered.

“Ok, ok, so my father was helping Frank and his first wife move into a new house. Clint was about four, and we were told to go play in the newly furnished basement. Well I guess they hadn’t finished doing it over, because Clint comes over to me and our older cousin Paul who was about 12 at the time. He comes over to us with a mouthful of insulation, saying something about the cotton candy he had found.”

“Oh my god, was he ok? That stuff can be poisonous!” Olivia said, trying not to laugh.

“Paul told him what it was, and he spit it out. He’s ok now though, so I wouldn’t worry.” Rebecca said.

“Well, I don’t know about that.” Natalia said. Liv threw a pillow at her and laughed.

“Ok, so we’ve heard about everyone else. Tell us about Bob.” I said.

“Yes, tell us about our dear Bobby.” Sara said lovingly.

“Well, when we were younger, Bob used to have the cutest crush on me, for about, I don’t know, six years.” Sara’s face went pale. “Actually, I don’t know if he’s ever gotten over me. But about three years ago, he finally got up the courage to ask me out to dinner. He set up a dinner, dancing, limo, the works. He was very sweet, very charming but I just couldn’t think about him that way, because I’d known him too long. When he asked me to be his girlfriend, I couldn’t stop laughing. I didn’t mean it as a mean thing, it was just that I had always thought of him as a brother. He got upset that I laughed at him, and he took me home. But not without trying to kiss me first. I was taller than him, so I had to bend down for him to kiss me. It was so cute.” Rebecca said, smiling.

“Awww, how sweet. He’s such a sweetie pie.” Natalia said aloud.

“Sara, you’re so lucky.” Olivia said. Sara smiled weakly and gave me a look of panic.

Just then the boys came back all sweaty from their performance.

“Hey girls. Been talking about us?” Scott asked us flirtatiously while kissing me on the head.

“Yes, actually. And I was wondering why you never became a Chippendale’s stripper. You obviously don’t mind showing your little friend off.” I said with a devilish smile.

Scott looked at Rebecca and squinted. “You told them about the wedding story didn’t you?” he said suspiciously.

“Whoa! There was another time? What’s the wedding story about?” I asked, overwhelmed.

“It’s nothing, I’ll tell you about it later. So, if you didn’t tell them the wedding story,” He thought for a minute. “You told them the beach story, didn’t you?”

“Yes honey, she did. Now we just want to get this straight so there’s no confusion. The bathroom’s down the hall, ok?” Liv said sarcastically.

“Very funny. So I was young, I couldn’t hold it. The little girls didn’t seem to mind anyway.” He said with a smile.

“Oh yeah? Well, I do!” I said, pretending to be offended.

“Hey Dave, do you still like to dress up in baby clothes?” Natalia said, getting up to get him a drink.

“Rebecca! I can’t believe you told her about that!” Dave looked upset.

“Don’t worry, I think it’s cute.” Natalia whispered to him loud enough for us to hear her.

“Well, if you told them stupid stuff about Scott and Dave, what did you tell them about Clint and me?” Bob asked with suspicion.

“She told us that Clint likes to eat insulation and that you once tried to get jiggy with her,” Sara said quietly. Natalia burst out laughing.

“It’s not what you said, it’s the fact you kept a straight face while saying it.” Natalia explained as she sat down next to Clint and handed him a drink too.

Bob turned red and looked at Rebecca with hurting eyes. “Did you tell her that?” He asked her timidly.

“Yes?” Rebecca realized what she had done. Bob looked at Sara and whispered something in her ear.

“So, what are we doing tonight? Are we going to go out or what?” Scott said impatiently.

“Do you want to? I kinda just want to say in,” Olivia said.

“Yeah, me too. Let’s just stay in, watch movies,” Clint agreed.

“We can order take-out,” Sara said, picking up a Chinese take out menu.

“Sure, that sounds like fun. Let’s go ask your dad if he can drive us to Blockbuster,” I said, grabbing Scott and pulling him over to me.

“Ok.” We went to talk to Frank. He told us that after the crowds went away, he’d call a taxi for us to go get the food and movies.

“So, lets call in and order the food now,” Rebecca said, looking at the menu.

“You know, I don’t quite feel like staying into night. I’d like to go out, see the city. I’m just kind of restless,” Natalia said, shaking her shag cut.

“Well, you can’t go out by yourself,” Olivia told her.

“I know,” Nati said, sighing. Dave looked over at her and sighed too. “I’ll come with you.”

“Really? You don’t have to,” Natalia said.

“No, really. I want to. It’ll be fun. We can go see a movie or something,” Dave said, tying his shoelaces.

“That’s really sweet of you. I really appreciate it,” Nati said, giving him a hug.

“Ok, so you guys are going out. Everyone else is staying in. Let’s get everyone’s orders for food,” Sara said. Everyone told her what they wanted, she called the restaurant and ordered it.

“Ok, thank you.” She hung up the phone. “They said it would take about 45 minutes. Why don’t you guys go out and get the food?” She said to me and Scott.

“Ok, we don’t have to leave yet though,” Scott said, checking his watch.

“No, you don’t. Clint and I can go get the movies. You can drop us off when you get the food,” Liv announced.

“Alright. And we’ll go back to the hotel and clean up, get ready for you,” Rebecca said.

“Well, I can get changed now in the dressing room. Do you want to leave from here, Dave?” Nati asked him.

“Sure, let me go tell Dad, I’ll meet you back at his office, ok? I’ve go to get changed too. We can take a taxi whenever,” Dave said, getting up and walking towards Franks little room.

“Ok. It’ll take me about fifteen minutes. So take your time,” Natalia said, making her way to our dressing room.

OLIVIA

“Thanks, just drop us off here.” Clint told the taxi driver. He waved bye to Scott and Kate and we got out in front of the Blockbuster video.

“So what do you feel like watching tonight?” I asked him.

“I don’t know, Liv. Let’s go look at the new releases.” We made our way over to them and began going through the movies.

I picked up the cover of a movie. “How about ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’?” I asked him.

“I’m sorry. I just cannot stand Jennifer Love Hewitt. She drives me crazy.” he told me. “But how about ‘Dumb and Dumber’?”

“Uh uh. That was the stupidest movie I ever saw.” I said, wincing.

“I was not, it was hilarious.” He said, laughing. I put my arms around him and gave him a hug. “What else?” I asked.

“Oooh. How about ‘My Girl’?” I said, glancing at the package.

Clint mumbled something back that I couldn’t understand. “What did you say?” I asked him.

“That movie made me cry. The part where that kid dies when he’s going back to get her ring,” he said, keeping his voice down.

“You did? That’s so cute, but I understand. I won’t make you get it,” I said, putting back the package.

We kept looking, but it seemed like slim pickings. “‘Porky’s’?” Clint asked me. I shot him a look. “It was worth a shot,” He said, grinning.

“‘Ten Things I Hate About You’?” I asked him. “We’ve seen it a billion times. I can’t do it again without going crazy,” Clint said, getting frustrated.

“Ok, ok, it was just a suggestion,” I said, stroking his arm.

“‘Terminator’? We could get ‘Terminator’ and ‘Terminator 2’. Have a back to back video session,” Clint suggested.

“Nah, I don’t really like those kinds of movies,” I said, shaking my head.

“Well then what do you want to see?” Clint said, raising his voice,

“First I want you to calm down. We can compromise,” I said. “How about ‘Saving Private Ryan’?”

“Actually, I’d like to see that.” he said. “Let’s get ‘Urban Legends’ too. I know they’ve been wanting to see it too.”

“Ok, great. See that wasn’t so bad,” I said, squeezing his hand. He gave me a look and began to laugh.

SARA

“Well, we’re finished cleaning up in here. Let’s get some sodas or something.” Becca flopped down on the couch.

“We’ll go get some. How many do we need?” Bob asked.

“We’re gonna need a lot. Why don’t you guys walk down to the store and pick up some 12 packs of soda?” Bec told us.

“Uh, ok.” Bob checked his wallet. “Come on Sara. Let’s go now so we can be back in time.” We headed down the hall to the elevator and started our descent to the main lobby, silently. Ever since, well, you know, we hadn’t really talked. I still loved Bob and pretty much knew he loved me. But when he saw Rebecca, he started acting weirdly and then when Becca told us about Bob used to like her, he looked pretty upset that I knew about it. I don’t care, I just want to make sure that whatever that was between them, is over.

We entered the convenience store down the block. “What do you want to get?” I asked him.

“I don’t care. How about some Coke and some Sprite? They’d like that, right?” He picked up two 12-packs of coke. I picked up two 12-packs of sprite. We went to the checkout to pay for them.

It wasn’t until after we left the store that I noticed Bob was looking very upset. “Ok. So, I’ve been quiet. What’s up with you? Why are you acting so weirdly?” I stopped him on the side walk.

“It’s nothing, really.” he said, shifting his weight.

“Bullshit. Now tell me, what’s wrong?” I said. He just looked at me. “Is it about Rebecca? I know you used to have a crush on her. I don’t care about it,” I told him.

“I know.” he said. “I don’t know why I got so defensive about it.”

“As long as you don’t love her in that way anymore.” I looked at him. “You are mine, right?”

He smiled. “Right.”

KATE

Scott went up to get our food. “Hi, I’m here to pick up an order for Scott.” The cashier went to the back to pick up our bags.

“So, what movies do you think they got?” I asked him.

“I don’t know, I just hope they are good.” I sat down on the bench facing the dining room and tied my shoelaces.

I looked up and froze. There was Dave and Natalia, sitting in the dining room at a booth, looking incredibly chummy. Scott looked at me. “What? What’s wrong?” He looked towards the dining room and saw them.

“Oh, my... ” he sat down beside me, speechless. Natalia and Dave were sitting across from each other, holding their hands and staring in each others eyes.

“Maybe they are just here to get some dinner too.” he said.

“Yeah, right, and maybe their hands are just cold.” I rolled my eyes.

Just then Dave leaned over to Natalia and kissed her. And it wasn’t any friendly kiss. They kissed some more and then pulled apart when their dinner came.

“I knew something was going on,” I mumbled.

“Hey, excuse me, sir. Your dinner, it’s ready to go,” said the cashier. Scott got up and paid for it.

“Come on, let’s go.” Scott pulled me away from the restaurant.

“Should we tell everyone else?” I asked him frantically when we had left the restaurant.

“No, no. There’s probably a good reason why they don’t want us to know. We should wait for them to tell us,” he said.

“Yeah, ok.” I was surprised to see them there, but also I had known it all along. They had a close relationship and Nati had always liked Dave the best before we had met them. Well I’m happy for them. I just don’t know why they didn’t say anything.
