This feeling was still so new to you, the new heightened senses of a vampire that is. You thought it would be such a grander thing. But no, you still felt like you, only better. You didn't need your glasses anymore because your eyesight was now perfect, even in the dark! You may not be muscle bound but you had the strength of ten men, but damn you were hungry!
It was just now dusk and you sat up in your bed. Your parents were probably furious that you didn't go to school and proceeded to sleep all day. But you didn't care, you didn't like your parents much anyway, or your bitchy sister... but there was Cory, your little brother that you loved with all your unbeating heart. It was then that the feeling of sadness...(and was that regret?) crept inside. You knew that you couldn't stay with your family now that you'd changed.
You rose from your pink canopied bed that you absolutely abhorred. Your parents would never buy you a new one and with your shitty job and paychecks you really couldn't afford one. In front of you was your closet that never closed due to the amount of junk in it, your dresser, television, cheap furniture, and bookcases to your left. On your right is your night table with your journal and few other unimportant papers stuffed in its one small drawer.
You could hear your sister on the phone with her boyfriend, although you couldn't care for her sickening sweet voice; you thought it was neat that you could hear him on the other end. Downstairs you could hear your parents talking, you assume they hadn't found out about today since they weren't arguing. Cory was in his room down the hall playing with his army men. You smile at the cute noises he makes for his dying soldiers.
A pang of hunger rumbles in your stomach again and you're brought from your thoughts. The scent of meat tickles your nose and your mouth waters, as your old rotweiler, Pooks, whines and sniffs your hand. He sits looking expectantly at you and your brow furrows. You hear his pulse as well as you've heard your own and looking at him makes you that much hungrier!
You feel disgusted and decide that now would be the best time to make your getaway...
