Unreal
Tournament 2004 is rising up to be one of the
most well known
multiplayer computer games of all time. Even for people that
don't like the
game, they still know what it is. The original Unreal Tournament
was a slow
rising success, and a few years after being released, there was a
special
edition that came out, and a few years later, Unreal Tournament 2003 was
released. UT2K3 was a huge success. It was one of the first
games to use
the new Havok Physics engine, and with the fast pace of the game, it
made
even dying fun, just to see how your character was thrown around.
UT2K4 is pretty close to the same game as 2003, but
they are using a newer
version of the Havok Physics engine, making character movement as
life-like
as possible. UT2K4 also brought back some of the old guns that
2k3 took
out, including the well loved sniper rifle. There are over 100
maps total in
UT2K4, which helped make the game a 6 disk installation that uses up
over
5 gigs of space.
There are ten game modes in UT2K4, they are:
- onslaught
- deathmatch
- team deathmatch
- capture the flag
- double domination
- bombing run
- mutant
- last man standing
- invasion
- assault
Assault was in
the original Unreal Tournament, but was taken out of UT2K3, but
after a bunch of complaints from fans, it was brought back for
2004.
Onslaught is
the new game to UT2K4 that adds vehicles into the mix to compete with
all the new
games these days that give you the option of using a vehicle.
