Doom 3 is a
first person shooter computer game, but will be released on
Xbox by the end of 2005.
This is the third game in the Doom
franchise, and
this one brought back some of
the original monsters from the first
game. The
Doom was released 1993, and
Doom 3 was originally scheduled to be
released
very close the to that date,
but was held back until August 3rd because
of some
bugs they were still having
with the game. Doom 3 took Id (the
creators of all
Doom games) over four years to
complete from start to finish, but the
final product
was well worth the wait.
Doom 3 on takes about twenty-four hours
to beat on
average, which is a good twenty
hours longer than almost any other game
for
the computer. This game
reset the bar on expectations of a horror
game to a
level that probably won't be
met for many years.
Doom 3 takes
place in the year 2145, on a mars
science facility run by
the UAC
(Union Aerospace Corporation),
you are a marine that was sent to the
base along
with a
scientist and other marines to figure out why so many scientists have
gone
missing,
and why so many people were becoming delusional and saying that there is
evil at
the base. After playing for a few hours, you learn that the
facility has been
researching teleportation, and
they opened up a gate to hell.
Instead of closing it
like they should, the lead
scientist at the facility keeps the gate
open to run experiments
on the demons they bring
through. But it started to eventually
get out of hand, and
just after you get there, all
hell breaks loose. This is one of
the bloodiest, and graphic
games I have ever seen, or
played. This game will test the limits
of any real horror fan.

This is an

the ceiling.
