Who/what am I? What are my friends like? Why do I love cashews? What is our secret language? Discover my life's banal details.

Interesting literature. No - not really. Actually, critiques of a few movies I've seen, and a little poetry & some short stories from my creative writing class ...there's some other dumb Shakespearean-veined things in here.

Pictures - horrible, horrible pictures! Look at the insane facial expressions, the menstrually spotted doggie towels and drool-laced chins. So much fun.

An awesome band will finally get the highest recognition they possibly can - being featured on the website of a PMSing 15-year old girl.

Yes. Contrary to popular belief, I do watch movies other than Amelie and Edward Scissorhands.

Every so often I find someone that can withstand my bizarre emotions-in-reverse judgemental senses. Confused? You'll find out later.

After a few years of a decline in interest in literature, my spark for reading has been renewed. I'm literate again!

The PERSON of the MOMENT is Frances O'Connor. (See photos 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.)

The subtlely beautiful 35-year-old Frances O'Connor is one of Australia's most outstanding and up-and-coming actresses. She has starred in some of the best independent films in recent times, including her film debut in 1996's romantic comedy, Love and Other Catastrophes, opposite fellow Aussie actress, Radha Mitchell. She was named Best Actress in 1997 at the Montreal International Film Festival for her haunting, carefree, yet vulnerable portrayal of Nikki in Bill Bennett's Kiss or Kill. Frances also co-starred with Oscar-nominee and fellow Aussie actress, Cate Blanchett, in Thank God He Met Lizzie (aka The Wedding Party), Bedazzled, her first big-budget American film from writer and director Harold Ramis, the BBC's adaption of Madame Bovary, Patricia Rozema's Mansfield Park, and Steven Spielberg's A.I.

Currently on video, Frances stars opposite Nicholas Cage and Christian Slater in John Woo's epic historic-piece, Windtalkers. She also appears with Academy Award-Winning actress Dame Judi Dench, Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, and Reese Witherspoon in Oliver Parker's adaptation Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. Richard Donner's adaption of Michael Crichton's medieval picture, Timeline, goes to video within the next couple of months.

Katja Von Garnier's adaption of Iron Jawed Angels, with Patrick Dempsey, Julia Ormond, and Academy Award-Winning actresses Angelica Huston and Hilary Swank premiered on premium cable channel HBO this February. Personally, I love this film. It's the primary reason I chose to highlight Frances O'Connor for this moment - which is unfortunate, since it was only after seeing Iron Jawed Angels (and adoring it) that I began to say, "Oh, really? That was her?" in reference to the other great parts in which I'd seen her act. The best case would be Bedazzled. Although I didn't care for this movie too much (as I first saw it during my period of declining appreciation for Brendan Frazier - George of the Jungle, Dudley Do-Right, Monkey Bone - how about a serious movie?), I kept wondering why I was actually interested in the parts that featured Nicole and/or Alison. Now I know. I had a epiphanic realization that Frazier's and Hurley's frivolous characters and superficial acting didn't (and don't) hold a candle to the charisma and charm that was (and is) Frances O'Connor. Okay, that sentences sounded poetically contrived. But it's true.

So I implore you, if it is a high-quality and well-acted movie that you seek, look for just about any movie starring this woman. I love her style of acting - it's so ...real. It's not John Travolta, Josh Hartnett, or Ashton Kutcher real (even though I love those guys, and they are critically acclaimed actors ...well, maybe one of them is). There's just an earthy quality to Frances O'Connor's acting that makes me actually care about her character - a character that is usually on the same level of life as I am, but dealing with problems much worse than my own.

My only qualm? Why, God - Why did she have to star in Timeline? What an awful thing that was.
