The following is a History and profile of Wallace,
a neonate Gangrel. He is yet young, but I have put
togther a brief file. First a few comments by those
who know the subject, and then a chronicle of his
unlife by myself, the Nosferatu Scholar Thialen.
Augustolos, Sire of Wallace:
In his life, I found Wallace to be an admirable man.
In his testing, I found Wallace to be an admirable
Kindred. In his initiantion, I found Wallace to be an
admirable Gangrel. What else can I say of a man who
so well understands life and unlife, the spirit of
Man and the spirit of the Beast.
Mina Stricklin, Gangrel, friend of Wallace:
When I met Wallace, we had both just begun to find
out what we had become. We were still seperated from
our Sires. Wallace wasn't like most of the Gangrel.
He wasn't the toughest guy I had met, but he soaked
up everything. Had a mind like a sponge, and a damn
smart sponge at that. He was a nice guy, wish I
hadn't lost track of him, but he was always a better
animal than I was.
In his life Wallace was something of a cliche. Got
two BS's from Berkley in three years, got a masters
and PhD in another three. His entire education, of
course, was by scholarship. He rarely studied, but
always read. He was, as Mina comments, a sponge, and
a damn intelligent one. He immediately got grants
from the National Institue of Health for research.
His area of study, human behavior and evolutionary
psychology. Wallace was convinced that the dicotomy
of homo sapiens (man/beast) had become imbalanced,
and society had taken a wrong turn. His grant work
was less sensational than that of course, but one has
to pay the bills.
A child of twentieth century liberalism and new
age tastes, Wallace was a practicing Wiccan. His
tastes for the occultish did not end there of course.
His taste for knowledge and amass of free time left
him in many a library for many a night reading into
legends of certain deviations of the human line. His
most fervent tastes were for the lycanthrope, the
Werewolf. He theorized them to be a hybrid of Homo
sapiens and Canis Lupus. He coallated tomes of legend
and "questionable" research. From my
understanding, he came rather close to nailing down
several facts.
His search for the Lupine inevitably led him to
us, the undead, the Vampyr as he often reffered to us
in his notes. He began to see cross-references
between the legends, and he theorized a link. A link
we Kindred call the Gangrel. The Gangrel were well
aware of his findings, and his future Sire made sure
that Wallace always remained just outside of the
truth.
Then one night, in all the animal cleverness of an
old Gangrel the hunter finally crept in and embraced
Wallace without him noticing. Wallace awoke the next
night, feeling rather odd. Unlike some Kindred in his
position it was not long until the scientist began to
realize what he had become, the 'How' was a little
more complicated of course. He took to the wild, and
eventually met several Caitiff, one of which was in a
similar situation to his. As he learned to hunt, he
chose only to take the Vitae of animals, unless
circumstances left him starved, or he found someone
who needed to dissapear. He used his empiricle nature
to make himself skillful in Protean and Animalism.
Soon enough his sire decided he was worthy of the
Clan, and he introduced himself.
