1955 CHEVY BEL AIR CONVERTIBLE

Painted with factory correct colors from MCW, Autumn Bronze and Shoreline Beige. The engine compartment is fully detailed as is the chassis including fuel line, brake lines and emergency brake cable.

1957 CHEVY LS1 POWERED STREET MACHINE

This is not your everyday 57 Chevy. The power plant is an LS1 from a 98 Corvette and sports Mickey Thompson Tires and Keystone Classic Wheels. It is painted with Turquoise Lacquer as a base coat and the initial clear coats had two pearl powders, one blue tint with gold pearl and one green tint with blue pearl. Although it is not very noticeable in the photos, when this thing is under good lighting or better yet out side, the pearls really look awesome! Then under carriage sports an embossed Chevy Bow Tie. The “Lake Pipes” were made from aluminum tubing and the headers from large solder. Photo etch parts were from the AMT Pro Shop kit and the chassis from the AMT Street Machine kit.

1965 IMPALA SUPER SPORT CONVERTIBLE

The License Plate

1965 Impala SS–Revelle/Monogram

Painted with PlasiCoat Flame Red and polished to an ultragloss shine. This model includes a fully detailed engine compartment and a nicely detailed interior including seat belts and keys to start her up!

1960 CHEVY CUSTOMFLEETSIDE PICK UP

This one was a blast to build and the color is exactly what I wanted. I used Testors Beret Green, a very flat green. Topped it with a few coats of clear and the results were perfect. I raised the rear end a bit and added some moon rims. Just the right look for this very popular model truck. The six banger engine if fully detailed as you can see.

1968 ELCAMINO SUPER SPORT

1968 Elcamino SS396 – AMT

One of my favorite vehicles – the Elcamino. Being an owner of an 84 Camino which I bought new and still drive regularly, I am partial to the whole spectrum of these “Cowboy Cadillac’s”. This model is fully detailed including engine wiring and plumbing, fuel and brake lines on the chassis, detailed interior and a custom bed cover. This kit came with a molded on vinyl roof, which I removed. This turned out to be the most major portion of the project taking forever to smooth out. The paint is Duplicolor Charcoal Metalic Gray giving the appearance of that ever popular metalflake paint jobs of the 60’s and 70’s. The bed cover is a piece of thin vinyl I cut off a halloween yard decoration.(Sorry kids, but we must set priorities!)

1967 Corvette Coupe

1967 Corvette – Monogram 1/12 scale

This model is an eye catcher! The color is Cardinal Red. It was painted with Duplicolor from the spray can, polished smooth, and then clear coated…a lot!! At least 4 good wet coats of clear were applied and then polished to produce a deep, high gloss finish. The engine compartment is detailed with kit supplied plug wires and heater hoses. Additional wiring and plumbing detailing under the hood gives this 427 power plant a realistic look. The interior also was given the detail treatment including a very effective combination of wash, dry brush and high lights on the seats. There’s nothing like those instrument decals topped with a little drop (in this scale, it was a big drop!) of clear to give a great lens effect for the dash. The chassis and all undercarriage components are detailed using many different metalizers and black tone paints.

1956 NOMAD

1956 Nomad – Revell-Monogram

This was my first attempt at detailing the engine compartment. It includes plug wires, vacuum lines, generator wiring, starter wiring and windshield washer plumbing. The two-tone paint is Guards Red and Sand Beige. The interior is also two-tone in the same colors, topped with dull coat and trimmed with Bare Metal Foil.

1957 Chevy

1957 Chevy Coupe 1/12 scale Monogram

Big car, lots of detail. The color is Chezoom Teal with Black interior. The interior also features a real vinyl headliner and detailed instrument panel. The engine also has quite a bit of detail. The only problem with this model is that when it was 99.9% complete, I managed to set it, on the roof, in a spot of super glue. I sanded off the glue until I thought it was smooth, masked it off and repainted the roof. Unfortunately there was now a small dip where the glue spot was. I figured I would never be able to do a second perfect mask job or another paint job to match (an air brush is almost to small for this scale) and was not interested in re-foiling, so the dip is a flaw I decided to live with. I still get “ooh’s and “ahh’s” when people see it.

Here you can see the difference between 1/12 & 1/25 scale

Scale Auto Delivery Truck

Scale Auto Delivery Truck – 72 Chevy P/U AMT

The cargo box is completely scratch built and features a working roll-up door and hand cast warning lights. The engine includes wiring and plumbing detail. And of course a delivery truck would not be complete without something to deliver, so a pallet and magazines are included as well as a mag on the front seat.
