Zoey sat on her bed, silent tears rolling down her cheeks. "I hate my
life... I hate my life... I hate my life..." she repeated. "I hate my
life..."
Zoey sighed, and grabbed her bookbag which had some of her
belongings strewn into it. She slung it on her shoulder, and walked
out of her room.
"So, here I am...at the end of the street again," Zoey said. She looked
up at the clouds, which were beginning to go grey. "Great...looks like
I won't make it much farther than last time."
She continued on for another couple of minutes when she felt a
raindrop splash on her nose. The another. And another. "Great,"
Zoey muttered, as her hair began to get wet, the contents in her
bookbag were probably already soaked.
She gazed at Taylor's house as she passed it, looking for any signs of
people being there. She sighed and continued on, when she heard
someone call her name.
Zoey looked up, and saw Taylor standing at the doorway to his
house.
She smiled. "Yeah?"
"How about coming in for a while! You look kinda wet!" He said
with a quirky smile.
Zoey grinned, her breath quickening. "S-sure! Thanks!" Zoey began
walking up his driveway until she met him at the doorway. He
ushered her into the house, and took her coat, hanging it up in the
hallway closet.
"Thanks," she replied, and set her bookbag on the floor by the door.
"Wow, what an awesome house!"
Taylor grinned. "It's pretty nice," he said nodding. "My mom
decorated it herself."
"Wow, thats so cool! Your mom has good taste."
"Yeah...so...do you want something to drink, or something?"
"Oh, no thanks," she replied, as she followed him to the kitchen. He
grabbed a Dr Pepper out of the fridge, and sat down at the table.
"So, where were you going?"
Zoey's stomach started to feel queesy. "Oh, nowhere's in piticular.
Just for a ... a walk."
"In the rain?" he asked with a grin.
Zoey laughed. "Well, it wasn't raining when I left, dummy."
Taylor laughed.
Zoey smiled. 'I can't believe I'm actully talking to him like I do with
everyone else,' Zoey thought, amazed. 'Maybe he'll actully think of me
as a person... yeah right...'
