The Story of a Cookie Recipe!

I'd like to tell you a little story about my Daddy. My Daddy always had a sweet tooth. One day I recall he asked me to make some cookies. Of course he asked on a day that I felt like doing nothing at all. Which always seemed to be the case with Daddy, or either it was when we had something planned. But I couldn't say no to Daddy.

The only thing about Daddy's request was that he didn't have a recipe he wanted me to use. He didn't even know what kind of cookies he wanted. He told me not to use a recipe. My response was, "How am I supposed to make cookies without a recipe?" He said, "You know how to make cookies just make something up. You can do that can't you?" Well, my thought was, "These are gonna be horrible!" But not wanting to seem like and idiot to my Daddy who obviously had more faith in me than I had in myself, I went into the kitchen and got to work. The only instructions he did have for me were that he didn't want them too sweet and he wanted them 'cake like'. Well, I made the cookies and my Daddy did like them and so did I. He told me to write down how I made them, so I did. I called them or should I say he called them 'Cinnamon Drop Cookies'.

I'm sorry to say that my Daddy passed away on June 22, 1998. It breaks my heart that I'll never be able to make anything for him again or throw together a recipe for him. But, in his memory I would like to share our recipe with you. He would love for you, your family and friends to enjoy these cookies we threw together one Saturday morning. Take care and may God Bless you! The recipe is below. Enjoy the Cookies and be sure to share!
