Season 2, Episode 20 (Episode 32 of entire series)
Monster-of-the-Week episode once again! Sure, there's an underlying message, but let's dispense with that for now. This episode features Xander in a speedo (which some chicks like), Cordy's showing of more affection towards Xander, and Buffy kicking some Hali-butt. This episode marks the second time that a faculty member has been loopy. (See Teacher's Pet, even though a large bug with a mission sort of isn't in the same ballpark...). Also, Angel makes a brief appearance in this episode.
Show opens with a night scene at the beach; there's a party to celebrate the Sunnydale High swim team's latest win. Buffy, Cordy, Xander, and Willow are in attendance. Buffy's off by herself, staring at the ocean. Probably thinking about Angel. This guy Cameron comes up to expound poetic stuff about the ocean and hit on Buffy. Hey, why not, you know?
Anyhoo, she gets distracted when she hears some commotion..a bunch of guys are standing around watching as Jonathan keeps getting his face shoved into a bucket of water. Doing her thing, Buffy goes to intimidate the guys and "save" Jonathan, who's less than happy with her for doing so. Some of the swim team members are miffed at her, too.

1. Xander pulled Buffy up from the sewer underneath the gym; she tripped Coach Marin, causing him to fall into the sewer. He slipped from Buffy's grasp and his swim-team-cum-fish-guys promptly killed him.
1. Xander can swim.
2. Jonathan peed in the pool. (ick.)
3. Buffy stood in the "shred of sanity" line.
4. Willow's probably been watching Homicide; she's a lighter Frank Pembleton.
