According to Wilbur Lewis King in "Genealogy: Jacob King (Konig) and Matheus King (Konig) of Northampton Co, PA," Bethlehem, PA, 1951
p. 4-5: "On 7 October, 1751, the ship Janet, William Cunningham, Captain, arrived at Philadelphia from Rotterdam, last from Cowes. There were on board this vessel two hundred and twenty passengers of who three bore the family name of Konig (King). Their names were Abraham Konig, Jacob Konig and Mattheus Konig.
It is impossible to state definitely what relationship existed between these three persons... Jacob Konig and Matheus Konig bought and lived on adjoining farms; they were sponsors on several occasions at the baptisms of each other's children, and Jacob named his first born after his brother Matheus."
Mr. King believed that Abraham Konig was the father of both Jacob and Matheus, but Ms. Burgett's early German research proves the father of Matheus was Johann Adam Konig. Was he also the father of Jacob? For the time being, he is included as Matheus's brother. More research is needed.
