Noble Climate of Tier Loch: Current as of Aquane 8544NA

Herein lie the details of the climate of Tier Loch as it applies to politics in the month of Aquane in the current year. I shall of course reference such information from prior months as I deem contributory to the situation at present. As always the Triune Churches are a fixture in the politics of Tier Loch. Those families which have risen to the surface of current events are six; Carseena, Darthusian, Lishsidhe, Ortignar, Tirano and Vallenya. The Churches of Sol, Fillia and Skraal are strong as ever in their leadership in this time of trials. The rising of the Plague of Ancestors once more, while dire, was in my opinion but an uneven cobble in the midst of a sea skipping stones.

Carseena - Feuding with the Tiranos. Nikilin Carseena recently murdered in his summer estate during a small hunting soiree with friends, he was engaged to be wed to Tiffany Lishsidhe but his death ended the possibilities of an alliance. Their wealth is in herd animals, primarily horses and cows. Darthusian - Their wealth is in shipping, trade and movement of goods. They specialize in trade from Tier Draas and are social friends of the Tiranos. They recently initiated two foreign endeavors. One a horse breeding project with Gendraal and Honosho as well as some import of Honoshan goods, the other an engineering guild based in Tier Draas. This year's Solstice ball was the stage upon which they revealed their oldest unwed daughter's betrothal. Lishsidhe - Their wealth is in clothing and fashion. Hoped to forge an alliance with the Carseena's through marriage, but those dreams ended with the prospective young man's death. Salinthee's return to the arena at the Solstice ball, coupled with the introduction of the elven Prince and Princess Nishane appears to be a bid for favor on their own. Ortignar - Their wealth is in military supplies. They have designs on expansion into Tier Chorales' abandoned mines which remain empty since the War of Sinister. Tirano - Feuding with the Carseenas. Their wealth is in cattle though most of their holdings were in the south of Tier Loch and were decimated by the War of Sinister. They attached themselves to the Darthusian family to help survive the loss. Vallenya - Their wealth is in sheep and farmholding. They are on reasonably friendly terms with the Carseenas however hold an especially close tie with the elves of the northern shore and posess an exclusive woodworking contract with them, much to Darthusian chagrin. Father Orias - Of the Church of Sol, founder of the Order of the Golden Sun. Purportedly a group of scholars seeking to reestablish the older moral traditions of the church and family and integrate the faith into everyday life, their recruitment is done in secret as are their meetings.

Additional visible families include the middle ranking families of (upper)Holdir, Resthina, Astera, Koswald and Vestrit(lower), minor ranking familes of Vestrano, Nishane and Ghalanest. There are roughly twenty families of middle rank at this time and fifty minor families kingdom wide.
