Every night I climb into bed and lay flat on my belly, arms stretched out ahead of me. You’ll have to find what is comfortable for you. Then I relax every muscle in my body and I feel all the tension disappear from my entire body until I am dead weight. Then I practice my Yoga breathing until I fall asleep. Yoga breathing is where you breath using your diaphragm, pushing your belly out and raising your chest up and out. Breath through your nose, using the back of your throat. You should feel and hear the air passing through your throat, then filling your diaphragm and lungs. It’s not exactly a quiet process, but it feels good and strengthens your lungs.
Try to set your alarm a minutes early, so when you wake up, you’ll have a few extra minutes to lay with your eyes open and let your mind wake up before you move your body. Then rise up slowly, taking the time to stretch each limb. Either in the shower, or before you get dressed, take some time to stretch each muscle, waking it up so to say, feel it come alive. Basically do the reverse of what you did the night before. I think you’ll find you’ll be much more active and aware throughout the day.
First you need to realize when your getting angry or upset. The quicker you can catch yourself, the less stress of being angry you’ll feel. Once you realize that your angry, take a step back immediately. Stop what ever you’re doing. If what your doing involves others, once they understand what you’re doing, they will appreciate the fact that you’re taking the effort not to get angry. (If they don’t, then they are selfish, and you should concern yourself with how you taking a time out effects them.) After you’ve stopped and taken a step back, close your eyes and breathe. Concentrate on breathing, feel the anger being pushed down with each breath. Push the anger down until it leaves your body entirely. Remember, the quicker you are able to detect your anger, the less you have to push out. You have to know yourself, know what your feeling at all times and know what situations stress you out or make you angry and stay away from them. Meditation is a great way to control your anger and help you to calm down when upset, but its up to you to take control of you emotions and know when you need to meditate.
