UNICEF, the only organization of the United Nations dedicated exclusively to children, works with other United Nations bodies, governments, and nongovernmental organizations to assist in children's needs through community-based services in primary health care, basic education, and safe water and sanitation in more than 140 developing countries.
      UNICEF partnered with the Kiwanis family as it undertook it 's first Worldwide Service Project to virtually eliminate iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) from the globe. Key Club members raised more than US$2.8 million in fulfilling its pledge to the IDD Campaign.
      In 2001,Key Club members elected to continue raising funds for UNICEF by participating in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. All monies collected for UNICEF are contributed to the UNICEF Vitamin A Initiative.
