Hunting With My Wife

Well it is hunting season again and I can't wait to get started. But my wife is excited to, she wanted to get back in the stand with me. But this time I am going to let her hunt in my ground blind, that will be fun.

So on the fourth day of the hunt, I thought it was time for me to take her. I had already found a hot trail to set up on. So she could see something. We got there pretty early, so I could set up my blind and get ready before dawn.

We hadn't been there long before we started seeing movement down the trail. Some does were walking toward us, so we sat very still until they passed us up. And we watched them go out of sight.

The birds started singing, and everything in the woods was moving. Then all at once it got very still! We could here something coming so we looked down the trail, in the direction the does came from, but we didn't see anything. We could still here something coming, so we looked up the trail and saw a deer walking very slow.

I slowly turned and patted my wife on the leg, and told her to get ready just in case. And man, I'm sure glad I did!!

When it got about 30 yards from our blind, I couldn't believe my eyes! My wife started shaking, she was scared to death. I said "Honey take some deep breathes and grab your gun".

She slowly got her gun, and I said "Honey squeeze the trigger slow. And about that time she pulled the trigger, and I shouted out it scared me, because I didn't know she was going to shoot at that time.

We got out of the blind and walked over to where he laid. I turned and hugged her and said "Honey you are so lucky! You have done it again". She smiled and said "Yes I think I did."

Well the buck she got tells the rest. Iam so proud of her.
