The first day of deer season we had a full moon that night. Eveybody said that deer would not move very good on a full moon.
The first day of the hunt, the wind was blowing about 15-20 mile an hour. Out of the northeast.
I was going to try my luck anyway, because I had waited a whole year just to be here.
I had got in my stand early that morning, but all I seen was a few small does and a bobcat. I sat so long it got so dark, I couldn't see enough to shoot. So I decided to wait until the next day.
The second day I got in my stand earlier. The wind was very calm.
I had sat there for about 3 1/2 hours. I had seen movement at the edge of the woods. I guess it took another hour for the buck to walk out. But when he did, I thought he was a shooter!
When he got about 50 yards from me I knew he was a shooter!!
That 8 point buck walked right up to my scent bombs, that I had hanging around my stand. When he smelled that # 69 doe in heat, ( I had out ) that buck went crazy!
Well I got my gun ready, when it came in about 10 yards, I took my time and got that 8 point buck.
I was so tickled for another great hunt using my favorite scent. That # 69 doe in heat, you can't beat it.
Thank you very much for reading my stories. I am so proud of them.
